Regs: i was driving down dominon road yesterday and was looking at the road markings. the bus lane is clearly marked as such, but the line between 'lanes' is a solid white line, not a broken white line. Is it even a legitimate lane for cars to travel down (been a while since i checked road code)? If not then the other car shouldnt be passing you in it.

"may be able to stop in them" - i.e. not drive in them. Probably a good idea to clarify that.

The picture on Page 1 also shows the solid white line. In that case, neither car should be in it.

I had the intention of parking in this lane to figure out where i was, Would this mean he would be at fault driving in that lane in the first place?

I don't know the road or any special conditions on it, but a solid white line implies you're not allowed to cross it. That would imply it was a bus lane at all times, in which case the other person shouldn't have been there. As someone said in a previous posting, you are allowed into bus lanes under certain conditions. You stopping to get your bearings may be one of those.
