Well guys..I have some more news for you...turns out Telstra gave me the WRONG IMEI for my 2007 handset.  Now you wonder why I would go to a Private Investigator?

Because the coordinated intelligence of Telstra resembles an amoeba's nervous system, that is why!!

Long Live Telstra!!

Tip: the IMEI is listed on the box. When you get a new handset, copy the number and store it with your passport. Don't rely on your operator - some don't know which handset you are using, at all.

Mauricio, great tip actually...I did this with the new handset, I cut out the side of the carton, but now I should store it somewhere.  Of course, the telcos don't know which handset you are talking about, but if they had an iota of intelligence, surely they would check which one is currently being used!

I am not blaming Telstra or Telcos, yes, it is MY fault I lost the phone, but surely there are some signs of intelligence out there?

Anyway, I will be emailing jaidevp with the new IMEI and see what happens!
