I have no idea what the context behind your post is, so I'll just leave this here.

Edit: The previous post has been updated with a link. I hadn't made the connection until now.

It's some if the topics on Geekzone that make me smile, like just today how to clean showers, hairdriers , cat doors and pets.

It may be just me, but in the age or rush and conflict, finding such a helpful and grounded community is someting to treasure and makes me smile.

It's amusing to see how the tech giants are now crawling up the arse of the wide-mouth frog. This confirms all the more my irrefutable basic principle of not trusting any U.S. server (or China server). As an EU citizen, my ‘independence day’ takes on a whole new meaning of its own.

What I find really bad is that apparently 170 million Americans can no longer exist without TikTok ... what is wrong with people that they allow themselves to be turned into slaves like this?

Not sure whether to put this in the smile or annoy thread.

I seem to have inherited the role of the street wheelie bin leader after our neighbours moved. The person that other houselholds follow when not sure which bin to put out. I'm not sure I'm ready for this level of responsibility, the consequences of getting it wrong and the whole street missing recycling week. Do I just wait until the last minute to put mine out in the hope that some other resident will step up and take the responsibility from me?

It happens gradually. Short form videos are shown to cause permament changes to the brain. I am all for the ban.

Just 'forget' for a week or so. It will soon become plain to all along the street that you are unreliable and not to be trusted when it comes to such important issues. Problem solved! 😀

It should be easy for your neighbours to find out what cycle their address is on by checking your local council web site. If you're like most people your bin probably doesn't need to go out every time.

If you include 30 second TV ad's in that then yeah, ban away. But if they will let advertisers do the same crap on TV then I see no reason to single out social media for short pointless videos.

We all know that, but its so much easier to peak out your window and follow what someone else has done. I just don;t think I'm up to the pressure of being that one person that everyone rely's on.

That should be easy to fix: Argue loudly with your rubbish bins as you place them on the kerb.  Wear your underpants on the outside.  Go over to the bushes and stroke them and say "nice kitty".  Suddenly people won't rely on you any more, and in fact may positively avoid you in the same way that you're dancing around to avoid the invisible snakes.
