Handsomedan:

On another note - I also watched Freelance starring John Cena on Neon on Saturday night.

Another of those "feels like the 80's" kind of action flicks. It had humorous moments, good action sequences and a good chunk of John Cena being John Cena.

I was not expecting a couple of things from certain characters, so there was a bit of good writing in there.

Overall another good popcorn movie

Cena is someone I have a lot of time for as an actor,

He's totally aware that he's being typecast, but continues to take the gigs to get better.  He's hilarious in  Peacemaker.... his comic timing is actually really good. -

There was a great Graham  Norton interview with Him and Matt McConaughey on the couch, they had a great time together..

I think he's a better actor than the Rock, but he's still only a candle to D Bautista who in Blade Runner, Knives out #2 and Dune really got a chance to show his stuff..

We watched Beverley Hills Cop: Axel F on Netflix last night and we all enjoyed it. I thought the stunts were very good, kept the old school vibe but the quality was great. Some good laugh out loud moments by all family members at the same time, youngest was confused on why the crazy frog song was in it.

Updated song is linked here, warning spoilers in video.

Black Hawk Down - 4k Blu-ray - 9/10

Ridley Scott's excellent war movie is astonishing on 4k. The Atmos soundtrack is so realistic I had to check once or twice to see if I had been shot.

A reference disc for your home theatre.

I see they have filtered an anatomical part of the frog, which existed in the original video

"The Watchers". A rather run of the mill horror with no big surprises. I was expecting some bizarre plot twist at the end considering the director is Ishana Shyamalan(M. Night Shyamalan's daughter) but nope just the same old horror tropes. 6.5/10

Deadpool x Wolverine

Everything you'd imagine it to be and more.

Totally, worth the wait.

Kill - 7/10 (Eng Sub's) warning = very violent & lots of gore

During a train trip to New Delhi, a pair of commandos face an army of invading bandits.

Don't expect any Bollywood singing & dancing in this Indian movie. This is not a tale in which the good guys defeat the bad guys and come out on top. If you like adrenaline-fueled close quarter action (train aisles & entryways) and blood spattered everywhere then this is for you. Yes it has a very simple script.

Three days before the film's release, 87Eleven Entertainment, known for the popular 'John Wick' series starring Keanu Reeves, announced that they had purchased the rights to remake the movie in Hollywood. In this movie though, there are only 46 deaths

The Instigators - 8/10

Follows two robbers who must go on the run with the help of one of their therapists after a theft doesn't go as planned. Matt Damon & Casey Affleck star in this Casey Affleck script and produced by his brother Ben Affleck as well Matt Damon.

Great movie with tons of great actors doing mainstream and cameo appearances. Well done fights scenes and car chases all typical of a good heist movie. The script is tight and swings between serious to comedic and it is not as predictable as I thought it was going to be.

Went and saw Deadpool and Wolverine at the movies when it opened.

I'd like to see it again so I can take it all in.

There's so much going on in that movie! It's like a love-letter to Fox and Marvel, with a sprinkling of self-deprecation and just a dose of blood-bag excess.

I really enjoyed it - whilst there was no surprise that it was going to be violent and bloody, I wasn't expecting some scenes and they really made me go "What the!?"  - also some genuine laugh out loud moments and some really cool cameos (maybe a couple too many?)

The funniest and most surprising one was seeing Chris vans turn up, cloaked and with a hint of blue showing through, with Deadpool getting excited about Captain America being there - only for it to be Johnny Storm. Hilarious. And then the de-fleshing by Cassandra Nova was the icing on the cake

We watched Twisters last night.

The premise is stupid, the plot is ludicrous and the science is dubious. I loved it.

While it's technically a sequel the only thing it draws from the original Twister is the premise around storm chasers. Hollywood doesn't really make movies like this anymore. There's no real avenue to make it a franchise and it's sole purpose is to be extremely entertaining. It's not violent, it's not particularly woke/reactionary, it's just a big budget entertaining movie with movie stars being movie stars. Glenn Powell is so good in it. He's got a ton of charisma and had a decent chemistry with Daisy Edgar-Jones.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom - 1/10 (Fiji Airways)

I really enjoyed the first film.  Despite the debate between MCU and DCEU (and personally enjoying more of the former than the latter), I actually enjoyed elements of the embryonic Justice League team - Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman was good, and Jason Momoa is always good value, even as Aquaman.  I even intended to watch the sequel in the cinemas but never got around to it.  I had 3 hours to kill on the plane last weekend, so I watched this.  I never felt so pleased about missing a movie in the theatre, and saving myself $18.

It's terrible, missing all of the charm and humour from the first film.  Momoa as Arthur Curry/Aquaman just comes across as a joke, with powers that appear to flexibly slide to suit the fight he's in, a barely coherent plot, sub-par acting from all concerned.  It's hard to enjoy a film on a plane at the best of times but even allowing for that this film was a turd that should have been flushed.

Elvis - 6/10 (Netflix)

This has been on my list for a little while, and had the chance to watch it over a few nights while I was away.  "Based on a true story", I found myself wondering exactly how fast and loose it was.  It's "narrated" by Col. Tom Parker (Tom Hanks), so there is a measure of the "unreliable narrator" here.  But we never really get a good sense for any of the major characters - Col. Parker and Elvis - and it all comes off feeling quite superficial.  It's a shame because it misses the opportunity for being an interesting dive into a historically-significant character (cf. Oppenheimer) but also doesn't quite hit the mark for being entertaining (which is something director Baz Luhrmann normally nails).  Instead, it falls down in the middle.  The music is great (as expected), and it's interesting to see the relationship between Elvis and other legends such as BB King set out, but the story as a whole is a little disappointing.  While we see the rise of Elvis to his ignominious demise, I felt like I didn't really know any of the characters better as a result of that journey.

Same from me.  Had a bit of heart to it.
Steven Spielberg was involved and had a role in the final ending scenes to avoid it being too clichéd.
Science was dodge, computer modelling highly simplified, elements of the plot not really making much sense, but at other times the music and vibe were excellent and there are some randomly cinematic scenes that had no right being in a hollywood action type movie.

The theater I watched it in had Dolby Atmos sound and it sounded fabulous.

Inside Out 2.

Without question, the best animated movie I've ever seen.

Should be mandatory watching at school and I believe adults should see it to.

I have to say, it was pretty dusty in the theatre, they should install a filter.

11/10 from me.

Masterpiece.

Just watched it last night. Agree with sentiments.

This would have been a far better movie to show than the Gladiator movie that @networkn 9 yr old was forced to watch.

Loads of life lessons in Inside Out 2.

Inside Out 1 was just as pleasurable.
