I just wish he'd clean his bloody room.
Time to kick him out !
We have 3. The two younger ones are at Otago uni. I miss them a lot, every day. The oldest is at Auckland uni and still living at home. I wish he'd go flatting. Either way, you can't win!
Oh, I understand.
Eldest had been at UoC for six years. Finished her thesis last month and has already moved to Perth.
Middle has been in Sweden for three years, left at 18.
Youngest is Y13 and talking about study in Netherlands next year.
My $10 toaster from Kmart. Does the job. Good for muffin splits and bagels. Only person I need to impress is a 2yr old. He just wants food, so, he’s happy.
This actually made me giggle.
Amongst all of the really big news of the world, this was front and centre on Stuff's home page this morning, because there's a bit of rain:
I just feel for the folk in Remuera. How will one get one's one to make one some morning refreshments without power?

I think we have a $15 toaster that we bought from the Warehouse 8 yrs ago when we arrived in the country. It was just meant as an interim purchase to tide us over until our belongings arrived in a container from Ireland. In that container was a reasonably expensive name brand toaster that promptly died about 3 months after arriving in the country. The $15 Warehouse toaster is still going strong.

My two year old loves watching the toaster in silence and then when it's done he starts yelling "POP TOAST POP TOAST" at the top of his lungs and running around the house so everyone knows the toast is ready.

Who needs smart technology when you've got a two-year-old that tells you when things are done

The technology might work out cheaper in the long run?

You might be right there. On the flip-side, depending on what updates are given, the non-technology option might not need to be replaced for another 16 years.
The dead sperm whale that artists here in the city have placed directly on the inland waterfront and the chic shopping arcades reminding us of something.

Numerous BuyEuropean initiatives, which are already showing harsh consequences in fast food chains, Tesla dealers and jeans shops.
It has become a ‘fun sport’ for the hip fashion youth to avoid US brands.
No buying products at all is even much more drastic than any tariffs and should not be underestimated! Where there's a will, there's a way! After all, we are 449.2 million. 😁

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.
The New Superman Trailer. I really hope the movie is as good. Looks Epic.
Late summer I decided to crank things up tramping wise and have a goal of walking every track in the silverpeaks this year. If you live near Dunedin, you will know this area.
Well I've walked this area for 30 odd years and finally I walked down the devils staircase to Jubilee hut and back. For some reason the devils staircase always awed me a little, but wasn't that bad as it turns out. Apart from rather vertical.
Next I want to walk the whole circuit in a day via ABC cave / yellow ridge / valley river track. I love big long circuit walks.
Son number 2.
After giving himself adequate time (and considerable effort) to use his Film School diploma to get a job, he's decided that his future may be best served by getting a BCom at AKL Uni and majoring in Marketing, where he can use his already acquired skills and apply them in a different but adjacent field.
So, he promptly applied, was accepted and starts in July. Not bad for a kid that left school at the end of Year 12 and pursued his dream, but realised that dream was going to be a little harder than anticipated.
