I was at a maccas where there was someone making a giant scene at the first window and they wouldn't leave, so everyone behind them was stuck, and as it had a corner in the drive thru and NZ driving skills are one step above nothing, the people behind were not able to reverse out. That was 20 mins I will never get back. I now do not go to that mcdonalds at night time when the morons are out.

Just waiting for the motorcycle I ordered to arrive in NZ now. I must say though that the idea of collecting it and my first ride being through the centre of Christchurch doesn’t really fill me with longing! I wonder if they’ll deliver it to home….!

Some of you may know that I am often out and about on my eScooter. Now there is a company here in the city that builds such great eMotorcycles and I am sorely tempted (although they are heavier than a 21kg eScooter). Unfortunately only in German - sorry.

Of course I do realise it may fail again at any time but I do feel very pleased with myself right now.

In that case try LIRC. 😉

I have been playing Assassains Creed Shadows. It has the best sounding weather effects I've ever heard.  Friday night there was a massive downpour in our area of Auckland whilst I was playing, during the winter season where there was heavy rain and thunder and lightning. I didn't even realise the weather was wild outside until my wife came with video of her standing mid ankle deep in water in our driveway!

Interestingly (mostly to me I expect), many years ago, 8459 was a pin I used.

I am increasingly noticing that US manufacturers in particular are making their products now more and more proprietary without any technical necessity. Be it NAS manufacturers, UPS manufacturers, router manufacturers to name a few. Of course it is their right to do so and no reason to hate them. However, if they want to sell their junk in the EU, they will be increasingly restricted and begin to avoid the howls with fantasy tariffs and this dinosaur logic. 😁

But it is only the right and power of the responsible, critical buyer. Some (MAGA) people call it ‘unfair’ because they can't use it to line their pockets with money after the purchase and do not care about the avoidable long-term effects on the environment. But ... as I said (and I'm certainly NOT a communist). The overall balance and the total cost of ownership are important! Not just the favourable purchase price.

So if we don't want to have everything dictated to us in the FUTURE, we need to be careful and competent when buying our ANYdevices and ANYservices TODAY! I think Trump is ‘good’ in this respect and I smile that things are finally moving in this direction (against it) and that alternatives are suddenly feasible. 😉

Went to the final home game of the season for Auckland FC (NZ's League-winning A-League football team).

On a rainy and not very warm evening, the stadium had a crowd of 24k+ for what was effectively a dead-rubber.

What a great atmosphere! So many families with young kids there, The Port (active support group) were singing and dancing through the whole game and then the team got to lift the Premier's Plate in their innaugural season.

Was great to be a part of.

I bought something from Amazon, last Thursday 24 April. The delivery date estimate was 8 May.

It was delivered 30 April.

I recently had a very similar experience with two separate parcels coming from Aliexpress.
