Smiling as I get to put on my Dance Dad t-shirt and watch my daughter take the stage tonight in front of a full house. My daughter organised the shirt one father's day, only a special few from her old studio got approval to have one so I am always honoured to wear it.

Miss 11 and Miss 13 got school players of the year for their netball teams. It's been a good week to be a dad.

It’s not the glow of reflected glory that makes me smile, although of course it’s nice. It’s seeing what a difference recognition makes to the girls self esteem.

Having to be at a sports club for 90% of the Blues v Crusaders Semi , where the game was on in the main lounge and managing to avoid having the result spoiled so I could get home and watch it 'Live'.

I think I was the only one enjoying the sun in the city park yesterday with a book in my hand.😎

Hearing the words "that is the final installment payment" when you take your kids to the orthodontist.

In keeping with the "proud parent" theme, last Friday I got to see my two daughters (primary-school aged) do their first music performance courtesy of instrument lessons they have been taking through school this year.  My youngest was actually performing solo, a rendition of "Frere Jacques" on the keyboard.  She managed it flawlessly.  Very proud.

An ambitious goal, but certainly not utopian in the long term and here in Europe. My call in the desert does not seem to have gone unheeded. 😉

I'm smiling because I am going mountain biking with my boys for my birthday tomorrow in Rotorua.

And the bike I just bought for $2. Love it when people list things for $1 on Trade Me.

This happened about a month or so ago, but my 19 year old son who is ASD, passed his restricted drivers license test with a 100% pass. Notes on the test were that he was the best restricted driver the tester has had for a very long time. I'm happy as I did the majority of his driving practice with him, including the dreaded parallel parking. So incredibly proud of him still, after everything he has been through.

DHL shipment collected in Taiwan on Monday 16 May evening (our time). Original delivery date set to Monday 23 May.

Saw the shipment in Melbourne yesterday (Wednesday). Arrived in Auckland today (Thursday 19 May) at 2:45 AM. Landed in Wellington at 8:40AM and is out for delivery this morning,

So not only beat the original delivery date by four days, it also beats the holiday tomorrow.
