Music.

It's just glorious how it can evoke so many different emotion, bring back memories of that certain event, place or person, energise you or relax you, create a mood or ambience.  I couldn't imagine a world without it.

Sometimes I use big words I don't always fully understand in an effort to make myself sound more photosynthesis.

I am very selective about the communities and pages I am on in FB.

Most are very good and I enjoy the content. I'm a click away from departing if things don't continue in that community.

I have found that most times if the in person community is toxic, the Online version is worse.

Online is always worse. People feel freer to be obnoxious if there is not another human in the room.

Last week I had a routine check-up at a group medical practice. My doctor (female) was Ukrainian and very competent. At the end and for the first time, I received a proper, understandable, clear status and outlook, which her other colleagues had previously only ever given me when I asked twice.

Reconnecting with my extended family in Europe/UK.
One of my cousins started a group chat and reached out to as many of our family as possible, gathering a good amount of them.

Chat is sporadic, but weirdly, completely natural.

Obviously some of them are siblings, some of them see one another regularly and others, like me, are far enough away that we lost touch altogether.

It's also quite funny that I am "little cousin" to a few of them, even at the ripe old age of 56.

Edit: I come from a couple of fairly large families on both parents' sides, so a large group is completely normal in this context...

Quick Rule of Thumb:

That I've got the local pūkeko comfortable enough with my presence that whenever I go out on the balcony to throw kitchen scraps out on to the lawn, half a dozen of them come running.
