Sam Rockwell is a very underrated actor. Have enjoyed him in pretty much everything he's been in.

Yep watched it last night - great fun 8/10. Just as mad and crazy as Everything Everywhere All at Once for which I also gave 8/10
Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.
Fackham Hall 5/10
Expected better, was a bit of a slog in parts. Some funny bits, but so many stupid unfunny parts.
One Battle After Another has just won an Oscar for Best Picture, along with 5 other awards.
It's one of those films that captures our current times all too well, and I wonder if there'll be more like it with the pro-Trump Ellison family's purchase of Warner Bros ( which distributed 1BAA). But then again...
"I regret to say that we of the F.B.I. are powerless to act in cases of oral-genital intimacy, unless it has in some way obstructed interstate commerce." — J. Edgar Hoover
"Create a society that values material things above all else. Strip it of industry. Raise taxes for the poor and reduce them for the rich and for corporations. Prop up failed financial institutions with public money. Ask for more tax, while vastly reducing public services. Put adverts everywhere, regardless of people's ability to afford the things they advertise. Allow the cost of food and housing to eclipse people's ability to pay for them. Light blue touch paper." — Andrew Maxwell
Edge of Tomorrow (2014)
Sci-Fi/Action/Adventure
When Earth falls under attack from invincible aliens, no military unit in the world is able to beat them. Maj. William Cage (Tom Cruise), an officer who has never seen combat, is assigned to a suicide mission. Killed within moments, Cage finds himself thrown into a time loop, in which he relives the same brutal fight -- and his death -- over and over again. However, Cage's fighting skills improve with each encore, bringing him and a comrade (Emily Blunt) ever closer to defeating the aliens.
As I am waiting for a few digital titles to get a price reduction in the Apple Store, I decided to watch one of the older titles in my library, and was blown away by the film's awesomeness.
Like him or loathe him, I have found most of Tom Cruise's films to be entertaining, and Edge of Tomorrow is no exception. Probably one of Sci-Fi's most underrated film's, it has action galore, with a really neat concept. Emily Blunt is great, as always, and the whole thing runs for about 1:50. It's a Sci-Fi classic IMO. 9/10

I watched a trailer today, and had exactly the same thoughts after about two minutes 😁. Then I read your review, which has now confirmed my suspicions..

The Last Kingdom: Seven Kings Must Die on Netflix.
It's a wrap-up movie of the series The Last Kingdom.
It's good. It ties up the stories nicely and ends well. 8/10

Den of Thieves: Pantera (2025)
Action/Crime/Drama
Gerard Butler and O’Shea Jackson Jr. return in the sequel to 2018's action-heist hit Den of Thieves. In Den of Thieves: Pantera, Big Nick (Butler) is back on the hunt in Europe and closing in on Donnie (Jackson), who is embroiled in the treacherous and unpredictable world of diamond thieves and the infamous Panther mafia, as they plot a massive heist of the world's largest diamond exchange.
The first film that I can remember Gerard Butler appearing in, was 300 (2006). Since then he has appeared in many films, mainly action, but for some reason they are usually classed as "B" movies, and don't really set the box-office alight.
I enjoyed Den of Thieves: Pantera, although it was a bit complex for my taste. It's a heist movie so you can expect car chases, double crossings and things not going to plan. Not a classic by any stretch of the imagination, but there is obviously a third film planned. 6/10.

The concept of this film is what sets it apart, and both Cruise and Blunt are good actors, and this premise gives them lots of freedom.
People say Cruise makes Schlock films, but if you watch things like the firm, Collateral or Tropic thunder, you will find a pretty big range... He ain't Lithgow or Malkovich, but when you pay your money and the lights go down, your're pretty much guaranteed to be entertained...

Absolutely bonkers movie, with an enjoyable Dolby Atmos soundtrack.
I agree with the Sam Rockwell comment. He is excellent in this.

A couple of old movies:
Le Charme discret de la bourgeoisie: another crazy movie, with the French 60's cinema influence, by Luis Buñuel. Fernando Rey (also in The French Connection) is great. Lots of dream inside dreams scenes and memories. 7/10
Another 1970s movie, They Call Me Trinity. Italian spaghetti western, good fun though. It reminds me of these movies in the cinemas around the corner from where we lived. 6.5/10.

The James Bond spoof, Casino Royale (1967), with David Niven, Peter Sellers, Ursula Andress, Orson Welles as Le Chiffre (!). Watched with my daughter and we couldn't stop laughing through the first 30 minutes. It was insane comedy.
Scorpio (1973), with burt Lancaster and Alain Delon, Paul Scofield. Good movie, but unsatisfactory ending for today's expectations of the hero being happy ever after. Solid story, with some scenes that reminded me of Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy by Le Carre.

I Swear, British film based on the true story of a young man growing up with Tourette's in the 1980s, before they knew what that was. A drama that's funny, emotional, and with fantastic acting: the lead won the acting BAFTA in February (he wasn't nominated for an Oscar because it hasn't been released in the US yet). The film also won the award for best casting. (The BAFTA ceremony was notable because the real life character shouted out the N-word during the ceremony and the BBC didn't cut it.)
Opens in NZ this week; I saw it at the international film festival last year, and firmly believe it's one of the best films I've ever seen. 10/10 (8.4 on IMBD).
The Wrecking Crew (2026) - Bautista/Momoa. Brainless, harmless, bombastic fun. Probably the best homage to the 1980's Schwarzenegger movies that I've seen. Think buddy cop "Commando".
