EXTRACTION 2 (Netflix)

Chris Hemsworth is Tyler Rake in Extraction 2, the sequel to Netflix's blockbuster action film Extraction. Rake is back as the Australian black ops mercenary, tasked with another deadly mission: rescuing the battered family of a ruthless Georgian gangster from the prison where they are being held.

I saw Extraction on Netflix a couple of years ago, and, as an action fan, I thought that it was excellent. Having read that there is to be a third film in the franchise, I decided to view the second film, aptly named Extraction 2, and it's a cracking watch. Pretty much action throughout, with lots of over-the-top combat, of which one scene in particular is pure action gold. Chris Hemsworth is the perfect fit for the role of mercenary/commando; Tyler Rake. I really enjoyed this one. The Dolby Atmos soundtrack is exceptional. 8.5/10.

Totally agree, both movies are excellent.

A nice little film call The Outfit with Mark Rylance about an ex-Savile row cutter in Chicago. 8 out of 10.

PRIME MINISTER - The Arden documentary, Netflix. I watched it over two or three sittings. For New Zealanders it may feel a little boring and predictable because we already know the characters and we know more or less what is going to happen. It is unique. I'd give it an 8/10.

Fight Club , on Netflix

10/10

I didnt know it was on Netflix, a pleasant surprise.
Its still a great movie , well worth a 2nd or 3rd watch
When you know the plot twist , you can pickup on things you wouldnt have noticed on the 1st viewing

We took the kids to go and see The Sheep Detectives yesterday at the movies.

Everyone had a great time, especially Miss 14. Just a really well done, fun family movie with a fabulous cast. It was somewhat Knives out meets cgi sheep.

Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan: Ghost War 6/10

Follows Jack Ryan who reunites with CIA operatives to navigate a treacherous web of betrayal against an enemy who knows their every move, facing a past they thought was long put to rest.

Very Ho Hum movie.

Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.

I kept wondering how I already knew the plot then realised I had read the book. Faithful adaptation.

I only just watched this. If I hadn't already read the book I probably would have enjoyed it a lot more, but so much of the science was glossed over or emitted entirely that it was a real let down for me. I understand the cuts had to be made for length, and to appeal to a general audience, but it kind of ruined it for me. So I was left feeling "meh".

Not including the sandstorm scene in The Martian was absolutely bloody criminal. It was the most gripping part of the book!

I'd give it 9.5/10 . Its a gem .
If you like the old 1940,50's detective movies , this ones for you . The lead reminds me of Lauren Bacall .
You never know where the plot is going , with a few twists & turns .

Over Your Dead Body

That wasn't at all what I expected it to be, was going more funny that graphic gore. Wife wasn't impressed with that suggestion, stil enjoyable and funny seeing Jason Segel in a different kind of role too.

Under the Skin , Netflix (untill June 13)

A strange film , with almost no dialogue.
Stars Scarlett Johansson , as an alien/skinwalker thing .
Its more an indie type film , set it Scotland . She preys on a lone men in the evening hours , then seems to become more self aware/human
Worth a watch . Its the opposite of an action film , but quite interesting .
