New running shoes day!

As a runner. its hard to beat the first run in a new pair of running shoes.

Bit late to the conversation, but what shoes did you get? And yes, new shoe day is hard to beat!

Asics Novablast for the road, they pair well with Trabuco Max's for the trails. These tired old legs need a bit of cushioning.

Finally, some decent sized fines for businesses misleading consumers about their rights.

Article "Enterprises sticking with Windows 10 could shell out billions for continued support" categorised under "Cyber-Crime". Clearly the reporter considers Microsoft's profits to be a crime :)

My dog...in his old age he has become very fussy with his food.

He simply refused to eat his breakfast this morning until I placed a single frozen pea in the bowl...he immediately devoured the lot!

You should know that dogs have to have a pee in the morning.

We mixed some new food brand into the old food brand and she refuses to eat it.

She also used to devour those Nexguard anti-flea tablets. Now we need to cover them in peanut butter for her to even sniff it.

My services server had some weird instability and was crashing every couple of days. I rolled back to a backup from a week ago and it’s all gone away. It’s so liberating having backups and not having to deal with days of troubleshooting.

Going out to breakfast with my eldest son for Fathers Day and having a great couple of hours just chatting and eating.
My youngest son, whilst away for a few days with his GF, constantly giving myself and my wife updates on what they're up to and where they are and what they are seeing...makes you feel like maybe you succeeded as a parent, when your adult(ish) kids want to keep you involved in their lives.

My local bike shop.
Took my eMTB down there to get a persistent noise diagnosed and resolved.

Turned out to be the rear hub, but in diagnosing the issue, they were prepared to work with the shop I bought it from, should it become a warranty issue.
Their service was second to none, as is usually the case and once they'd eliminated the majority of issues, they found and fixed the issue for the princely sum of $45.
Plus they quickly sorted a coule of other minor issues, at no charge (to be fair we've spent thousands in there over the years, before I got more proficient on the tools).

Good retail experiences are always pleasing.

I just noticed a thing at the top of Outlook labelled "Tell me what you want to do". Not knowing what it's for, I typed "Go home" (don't we all, on a Friday afternoon?). It returned "We are sorry, but this feature is deprecated"!

I bought a Linktap irrigation controller around 18 months ago. It's been pretty flawless until recently where it started chewing batteries so they only lasted 2-3 weeks.

The low battery message in the app popped up saying if you are having a problem with batteries only lasting a few weeks to email support so I did. They said they have a hardware fault with some units so they would replace the unit free of charge.

That's how customer service is meant to be, especially with what is an expensive irrigation controller. I've been very happy with the product and am even more impressed with the company in the way they have handled this. They have proactively supported customers and I really couldn't be happier in the way they have dealt with this, or the functionality of the product.

The fact they have excellent home assistant integration documentation is just a bonus :)

If anyone is interested
