Handsomedan:

The new Microwave that I mentioned earlier is making me smile again.

How does this work? You place something in the microwave... then start it via. the app?

I just want to go back to microwaves with 2 knobs on them. How long and how hot is all you need. just need to make an inverter version instead of it being the old crap iron transformer that cycles on and off.

The analog timer knobs are horribly inaccurate for anything below 5 minutes.

Microwave with knob and digital readout required ; ). Breville is the brand for that.

It's a long time since I used one. Possibly needs a knob twist then a single button press to start.

Portia Woodman-Woodcliffe (NZ's top scoring Test Rugby Player) and her own Barbie Doll. She looked so stoked with it, and they did a great job with it.  Her reaction is exactly on brand for her.

The women of NZ Rugby regularly make me smile.

Miss 13 did a presentation at the school assembly yesterday for Dyslexia awareness. She said she had to put down her notes because she was shaking so much but went through with it and did great.

She’s a massive introvert who doesn’t like the attention so it’s really cool to see her stepping outside her comfort zone with something like this.

It's an LG.

LG have a smart home app. I have added the microwave to the app. It needed a name.
So now I have three LG appliances, all of which have names in the app:

  • Angus (washing machine)
  • Bruce (microwave)
  • Doug (dishwasher)

John (toilet) ?

Dr Bugs gourmet popcorn, not that cheap but worth it. The flavours are usually for a limited time and can be a real surprise.

Not with the microwave, as it's not an IOT device, but the washing machine can be operated remotely - including checking what stage it is up to and how long the cycle has left (and the abaility to pause it or make changes on the fly remotely).

The microwave has a touch pad and sliders with a whole lot of "smart" options, like reheating certain things, cooking certain things etc. It works out weight, humidity etc and adjusts cooking times/power to suit.

I'm in the market for a new BBQ.
I have decided on what I want and it's available from Mitre10.
They have a special deal on for "Club Members".
It's today and tomorrow.

Looks like it's new BBQ day!

Oh - and my elderly mother has offered to pay for the majority of it, as an early Christmas present. She want's to see her kids enjoy their inheritance before she pops her clogs (hopefully not for a long time).

I used the 15% discount this morning to buy a DeWalt wet and dry vacuum for the workshop. Nearly bought it last week.

Now all I have to do is make/buy the adaptors it needs to actually connect to DeWalt tools. This could probably go in the annoy topic.

I'll likely be in the annoy thread when I have to assemble my new BBQ...

Check temu for them as it was not worth the printing when I got some from there.
