πŸ‘ Finally, someone wearing sturdy footwear again. So many people out there are walking around in those overpriced sneakers these days. Unaware that they are ruining their feet and heading into a vicious circle of heel spurs.

Do these count? I swear by Timberland boots. Comfortable, long lasting and waterproof.

Smile: I ordered some beer online from an Australian brewery yesterday and it was delivered today scarcely 25 hours after I placed the order! I thought I might be lucky to receive it before the 31st.

I had a similar story with PB tech. A tiny rubber case for a microbit in a box filled with packing paper. Multiple split orders. Single items in one package.

Attended my son's University Graduation yesterday at Spark Arena.

Not only was I incredibly proud and emotional, watching him walk on stage and accept his degree from the faculty, but I was blown away by the scale of the whole affair.

Spark Arena is a massive venue and it was pretty full. The floor was entirely students graduating and the upper and lower bowls were all families, friends and supporters.

As expected, the Māori/Pasifika families were in full voice, with songs, Haka and lots of cheering. It was awesome.
Lots of "Woohoo"s and "That's my Sister!" ringing around in what was otherwise a very formal and ceremonial occasion.

The scale just blew me away. I am not University educated, so was not expecting this. His was the second of three ceremonies that day - each 3 hours long and all from the Health Sciences faculty. Mind blowing.

Super proud. Super happy. Feeling very old.

Are they still expected to sing gaudeamus igitur? That was anachronistic when I graduated, even back then scarcely any students would have come within cooee of any kind of Latin during their studies...

A diet actually working!

I've been doing the "Man Shake" diet for the last couple of months - replacing two meals a day with protein rich meal replacement shakes (i.e. Man Shake).

Today I weighed myself and despite not feeling "slim" yet, I have in fact lost 15kg since the 24th October.

I am a couple of notches in on the belt and am able to wear shirts previously on the no-fly list, so it's working.

I have to say though...it's still hard work. A mouth wants to chew.

Awesome Job! Something to celebrate!!

Is it basically all shakes, or 1 meal a day is liquid. Not sure I could do all shakes, but I could swap breakfast for a shake.

My current regime is shakes for breakfast and lunch, then a solid dinner.

Dinner tends to get smaller and smaller as your stomach shrinks.

Protein-rich snacks like protein bars or Tamari Almonds or crackers and hummus can stave off the munchies, as I am learning, as well.

They say one you get to your goal weight you can maintain it with a normal breakfast and dinner and a shake for lunch, so I'll see how I go once I get to my goal weight/size.

Signed off work today for my last official day for the year. But what's really making me smile is that its also my last regular commute in Auckland traffic. On Monday morning (at 3:30am!) we load the car up and head south to start a new adventure in Nelson.

All the people who were caught off guard by Christmas again this year, rushing around organising and buying presents, getting in each other's way, to spend three or four hours on Christmas Eve with high expectations of a quiet, “holy” night.

You don't have to be an atheist, Grinch or a Christmas hater to see how completely crazy that is. πŸ˜ŽπŸŽ„
