Recently decided to upgrade the ISP router to something with better overall performance. We were getting constant dropouts and lack of bandwidth.

Relatively small house with many, many devices. 2 kidults that stream and game. Plus their GF's who also stream constantly. Then myself and the wife who will either be watching sky and simultaneously doom scrolling, or streaming (either together or in separate rooms depending on time/content etc.) and don't get me started on ythe dog and his viewing and gaming habits!

Got an ASUS AX1800 router and it's been transformative!

Full speed, clear and uninterrupted Wi-Fi all throughout the house, for the first time in a very, very long time!

So nice to have the various devices doing their thing all around the home and it having no effect whatsoever on the performance of streaming or downloads, video calls and overall performance.

The Clayton Weatherston parole decision today.  (Actually, maybe not a smile but it certainly prevented a post from me in the Angry thread.)

Shout out to Briscoes who replaced my air fryer no questions asked even though it was a month off warranty expiry. Certainly worth buying from them for the peace of mind. I expected some grovelling but as soon as I took it out of the bag the women immediately noticed the handle fault and proceeded with a refund. Bought a Russel Hobbs this time.

He should never be released. If they have to, then in his 90s. He doesn't deserve even that.

The genuine friendship of these two.

The whole thing is just wholesome and fun and nice.

We need more of this in our society.

That I could bake a proper, small, delicious Castella cake in my „smart“ rice cooker within 35 minutes. Crazy.

It's not just my sandwich press that's proving versatile, but my new air fryer as well.

Technically yes, but nutritionally speaking, for me, no to both. 🙂

My son's AirPods Pro were stolen today at the supermarket by a pick pocket. He didn't notice until two hours later when he wanted to use them and remembered two slight bumps from someone in the store. But he was able to locate them somewhere in the city using the Apple Locator app.

He drove there by bicycle, circled the apartment building, and then located the AirPods from the hallway using UFB. He heard noises behind the door, but no one answered when he rang the bell. He then turned on the speakerphone and pointedly called the police station, sharing the AirPods' location on their smartphone. Suddenly, someone answered the door, but didn't open it.

He suggested going downstairs and saying that when he came back, the AirPods would be on the doormat, and everything would be fine. And so it happened (thankfully - apparently the thief wasn't completely stupid and didn't want a police visit. Who knows what else they might have found. Or maybe he remembered the supermarket, and that my son is almost 2 meters tall). 😁

Maybe you son should call the cops in a few days with an anonymous tip off?

I saw the Goldfinger Aston Martin in the 1960s when it was on tour. Neat car but of course the gadgets were not all quite what they seemed.

The kids got their braces off yesterday. Miss 14 found it pretty traumatic but they are both happy to have them off. The difference that they’ve made is pretty cool.

Long long after the memories of the downsides of their time with braces have faded, their straight healthy teeth will bring them happiness :)
