I just got home. I live up a hill, and due to the curvature I can't see the entirety of my garage door from the road. As usual, I started heading up my driveway and habitually hit the door button on my remote.

Apparently the courier's been. I know this because a box with a big "fragile" sticker is now rolling away from the base of the door and down the driveway.

Had a similar unfortunate experience. Had my car half-out of the garage while vacuuming it. My other-half, who had been out, hit the door opener before being able to see the garage door, which then lowered and left a lovely dent in my car roof. Things were a little "frosty" for a while.

I didn’t respond to this annoyance immediately because I wasn’t sure how to, and I wasn’t sure how much I was annoyed. But it is still irritating me so I guess I should spit it out and get it over with.

Normally we don’t regularly watch any NZ TV other than the news, these days mainly TV 1. But lately we have been sliding more and more into 7 Sharp. I have always liked Jeremy Wells, who has a slightly subversive quality. I don’t care for Hilary Barry, but until the other day I could tolerate her.

What changed was her absolutely stupid gutless prissy comments about the infamous dildo incident with Steven Joyce a few years back. They were doing a light report on the woman who threw it, who was trespassed from the Marae. Barry turned red, started gabbling, and couldn’t bring herself to even say the word ‘dildo’, muttering some inanity about small children asking questions. What a stupid cow! If she is that sexually hung up, her children are going to be the ones with major problems, not any who might hear the word dildo on TV.

Coming from Europe, I cannot comprehend this dumb red-faced preciousness about sex, and especially, mentions of sex in the presence of children. I can’t think of anything better guaranteed to make young kids think it is something dirty and shameful, to be sniggered about behind the shed.

Sex is natural and normal. Blushing at the very thought of it is not. Speaking about it in whispers is not. Giggling in embarrassment about it is not. I am surprised anyone that up-tight even knows how to have children. I just hope for their sakes that they don’t all grow up wetting their beds and wanting to be spanked.

I dislike her as much as I dislike John Campbell. She absolutely ruined the awesomeness of Kim and Corbett on More FM when she joined. She spent so much time tut-tutting everything they did, that all the fun and funniness went out of it and became the Hilary Barry lecture on appropriateness show.

Having met her twice, I'll at least give her credit for being true to herself as she was exactly the same in person. She really does think she is all that!

Tonight's My Food Bag recipe: "Cook until vegetables are tender."

The problem? There are no vegetables in it.

Haha they've been griping me a bit lately. Always seeing this in the bargain box recipes. Got sick of rissoles twice a week for the rest of my life so I changed plans on a Wednesday expecting it not to take effect until the following delivery (as the monday midnight limit had passed) but ohhh nooo I managed to break their ordering system and queue 2 deliveries for one week. Four different people from their love team or whatever the hell they call themselves get involved, one pretty much growls me up for doing it because they don't refund after an order is confirmed on a monday (tried to explain this happened later on in the week!)

Anyway all fixed now

"You've received this email because you have a consumer (personal) Google+ account or you manage a Google+ page."

Huh? I do?

"You can download and save your content"

I decided I should probably do this, since I didn't recall creating an account in the first place. What does Google have on me?

Well, it took five days (!) to export, and contained nothing more than my Hangouts avatar.

This sounds like it should be filed under "Small things that make you smile".....

The fact that Vodafone have stopped printing the details of the phone calls I make on my monthly bill. Now if I want to know what numbers make up the odd $67 charge for overseas calls, I have to waste my time logging on to something else to look that information up, instead of them listing it on the bill as they always have in the past. What is the point of that change, other than to inconvenience customers?

Indeed. I can imagine them standing before their Agile board, childish coloured sticky notes in hand...

"I know! We can save..er, well...umm..something anyway by not adding the actual call items to the customer's bills."

"Great! Let's have a Sprint to get that done by next month!"

"Yay!"

Clearly its to provide the minimum they have to on paper so that people will move to getting their bills electronically so they can stop wasting paper on things that people can get electronically.
