Relevant parts:

  • His wife was going to be driving.
  • No pets in car. Rental agency wanted proof guide dog was service dog. Refused to show proof as it should be obvious.
  • Staffer went to get a supervisor, but this 'took too long' so they went elsewhere.

those filling their cars with 91 unleaded or diesel at the [Papatoetoe Caltex] petrol station between 7.30pm on Monday August 8 and 9:20am the following day had instead been pumping a mix of the two. ... a fuel tanker driver had accidentally swapped diesel and 91 unleaded when he was filling up the station’s storage tanks.

Wow, luckily I wasn't reading Geekzone at work when this popped up - might have been a 'please explain' moment.

Any plans for a NSFW filter or tag, @fritasm?

Do they think Geekzone is a technical research site you need to visit? You need to get Mauricio's name right.

Speaking of monkeypox …

Google is such a pain in the ass that I was even thinking of getting an iPhone SE Gen3 to replace now my old Android smartphone (I’ll deactivate most of Apple's services anyway, as I run most of what I use on my own servers).

Seems like the lesser of two evils and at least it has long-term support.

Today I happened to eat vegan chive mortadella. The aftertaste and the ingredients from the chemistry lab that were listed on the label let me sum it up in two words for the next time: No thanks. Even a double espresso couldn't drive away the taste of monosodium glutamate.

Bung: You need to get Mauricio's name right.

You are correct - mobile phone, small screen, aging eyes are not a great combination.

My apologies to you, Mauricio; names are important, and I should have been more careful.

I think the pest control people are going a bit too far in pointing out that there's a rat problem:

You've probably got snails in your letterbox. That's what they do to paper.

Snails eat paper? I didn't know that... what do they get from it? It's chemically bleached dried cellulose.

More to the point, how do you deal with them? Blitzem around the base?

We've used snail bait around the base and inside the letterbox before, yes.

And throwing them away when you catch them - they don't run fast!

So...it’s perfectly clear. Monkeypox is caused by tattoos especially red ink ones.
