I like it, it's more modem for today's audience but I reckon it's good.
My 3 kids love it, looking forward to seeing more.
Also.. I like that Weta is making it, that's a good move IMO.

Bot sure if its been mentioned, but I particularly liked the bit on the spacestation when John(?) said, "wow I nearly missed my favourite show" and there was a hologram of an original episode of Stingray going...

Found it was all rather frenetic - racing from one crisis to the next ...

Speeded up countdown ? WTF ? What happened to the slow, normal, per second countdown ?

TB1 and TB2 were not slow and ponderous, and TB2 with it's pods, a quick whisk up and away ?

And TB2's jets NOT nearly hitting the end of the launch ramp ? What gives ?

Yes - I agree it was too frantic, with too many disasters instead of building up to one decent one.

The Tracy boys are too camp as well.

Sorry didn't read the whole thread, but how does one watch this new series? Netflix? Is it on Sky?

Is it suitable for sensitive young kids, say 5?

On TVNZ on Demand

And, yes, good enough for a 5yo

Is TV on Demand Supported with Xbox or PS4 or any other platforms like FireTV? I would prefer this be on the Big TV rather than a PC or Tablet.

The next episode will be on FTA TV next Sunday TV2 (30 minutes minus ads and promos, so 21 minutes). Just as well the TBs have hyper speed otherwise they wouldn't even get to the disaster site, let alone effect a rescue in the time available.

I loved these shows as a kid growing up.  I took a look tonight and thought it looked pretty much like Reboot from 2001.  To my taste, it looked kind of awful.  A lot of what made it special, was the same thing that made Stingray, Terrahawks, Joe 90, Captain Scarlett great.  The puppets just made the show.

I'm sure modern kids are into this shiny CGI cartoon stuff.  And it's good that people seem to like it in this thread.  But it seems to me like your standard remake, it's own thing, with little connection otherwise to what made the original special.

I've been watching it on ITV + Unotelly. Up to episode 5 now.

It certainly passed the kid-test.

My 8 & 10 year old boys have demanded that the series be put immediately on series link, so we don't miss an episode.

They were diligently watching it this morning as I left the house.

Target market - engaged.

Wouldn't that be the ideal slot for it though?

Kids telly on at the kids telly time.

Perfect!
