Just to chime in...because....well, just because:
P2 Power for...well....power
2Degrees for VDSL, Mobiles and "landline" (voip)
Caltex for Gas - just take them the bottles when they run out and they fill them up :D
Genesis / Spark (Christchurch)
Why the Topic Starter didn't include a pool/survey including all the major NZ Internet and power companies? It would be easier and interesting to see the numbers instead of reading over five pages of comments. I'm not sure if Geekzone has that feature. If that's the case, just ignore this post.
With Slingshot for internet. When I moved into my partner's family's place they had Slingshot ADSL. Upgraded fairly painlessly to Fibre with same ISP. Didn't really have a high opinion of Slingshot previously (as I'd heard poor reviews previously) but I've been happy with the service. Only one occasion when they had an extended outage. However when we move out to our own place I might go with Spark/Vodafone. Voyager is another option I would look at.
With 2degrees for mobile. My partner swears by Spark's network. I'm the practical one so I decided to go with a non-Spark network so that we're not both reliant on the same network. I've used all three networks over the years and in the places I go to I have been quite disappointed with the quality of Spark's coverage. Vodafone's coverage is best in my opinion but I've gone with 2degrees because they're cheaper and I still get access to national roaming on Vodafone in certain areas. LTE-900 is also improving the quality of coverage in Auckland urban areas (including areas where GSM-900 and UMTS-900 barely work but LTE-900 provides reliable data connections).
Not sure who is the power supplier here. Not sure about the hate for prompt discounts. It's just another way of penalizing tardy payers (ensuring us who pay on time are 'rewarded' for doing so). If you're gonna pay your bill on time (which I hope you all do in any case) then by all means just take the discount into account when comparing plans.
I have my car insurance with AMI and health with Southern Cross. Interesting comments here re splitting up your insurances. One advantage of having it all with one company is some offer a single excess for claims arising from the same event. So e.g. if you have a event that impacts on your house, contents and car then only one excess. Also seems to be easier to deal with the same company for house/contents especially since many events would affect both at the same time. Does anyone have experience dealing with claims where the house and contents are with different companies?
As soon as I'm out of contract with Meridian (who I've been very happy with for pricing) I'll be switching to Energyclub (link is my friends promo code which gives you $50 joining credit)
Last bill would have been 8% cheaper with Energyclub even after prompt payment discount based on 435 kWh for the month.
Friend has been making savings over using one of the spot price retailers, and they're certainly the lowest prices I've seen for my address.

I only wanted a few replies to see the landscape out there and Geekzone doesn't have that ability, or at least I am unable to make use of it. So I made a chart (as best I could).
