I would love to replace the light above our dining table with a smart bulb, to get the exact right lighting for our board gaming evenings!

I'd be thrilled to win a Philips Hue Starter Kit to level up my TV room! After all these years, I've just jumped back into gaming — my first console since the Atari 2600! Now I'm crashing my way through racing games in glorious high definition. Some vibrant lighting would turn my constant wipeouts into a real spectacle. Plus, my turtle would love basking under the colourful glow too!

It would be ideal for any situation that needs adaptive lighting, such as watching streaming media, video gaming, or just for making you sleep easier.

"Create a society that values material things above all else. Strip it of industry. Raise taxes for the poor and reduce them for the rich and for corporations. Prop up failed financial institutions with public money. Ask for more tax, while vastly reducing public services. Put adverts everywhere, regardless of people's ability to afford the things they advertise. Allow the cost of food and housing to eclipse people's ability to pay for them. Light blue touch paper." — Andrew Maxwell

I'll throw my hat into the ring! We're currently renovating an old 80's house in Dunedin, and lighting is certainly on our shopping list.

We have a pretty amazing view from where we are, so some different colours in the living room would be awesome to go with the city lights!

I'm also JUST starting on my home automation journey.. I've set up a very basic home assistant in my home lab. Would love to have some new gadgetry to play around with :)

Just got started with Home Automation with a second hand Amazon Echo Plus and a couple of Zigbee plugs to control two panel heaters in the coldest parts of the house.  Would love some Smart lighting, but its out of my budget at present, the Hue Go would be especially good as a few of our lights are in the wrong places from when the extension was done before we bought the place. I'd use the Hue bulb on the hallway and programme it to use a lower level of light at night - so the hallway light doesn't wake anyone.

We've got a living room currently lit with one long LED on the ceiling (flouro lookalike). Super bright so good when you want to work, but not for a relaxing evening! Hue lighting would be perfect here.

A year or two ago I bought a couple of cheap DMX LED lights for a production I was involved in. About once a week my son plugs them in for an impromptu party in the bedroom before bed.

I'd love to replace the noisy fan-cooled DMX lights with silent Hue lights controlled with Home Assistant:

I’d try and link them with homeassistant and then automate the colour in the lounge to lookup the genre of what’s playing and change the colour to match the genre.  Eg:horror = red.

I'd love to install them in my husband's game room/dungeon; he's just installed a wall that looks like a stone dungeon wall and the lights would be a great touch for his D&D games.

My current office light is one of those newfangled WiFi ones — can't for the life of me remember what brand — and now every time I turn it on, it flashes random colours like a 1997 school disco. Definitely time for an upgrade. This offer sounds like the answer to my dilemmour (yes, that's dilemma plus amour, because frankly, I’m in a complicated relationship with this light).

Be great to have a smart bulb in our TV room as one light switch is across the room behind the couch and curtain so is a real pain to get to!

I would use these in the lounge where I currently have a lamp connected to a smart plug that comes on in the evenings. Having smart bulbs in the lamp and ceiling lights would be much more convenient.

My first adventure with smart lighting through another brand was a failure, so I’d love to try the Philips Hue starter set.

Finally I’d be able to start creating my “Stranger Things” style feline-human communication interface, allowing the cats to express their thoughts via a string of lights on the wall.

The code required would actually be quite simple, as after several years of data collection most of their sounds coincidentally translate to “feed me”.
