Have you tried both though, is there much difference?

Now I'm not sure what to do, I'd like to try the real McCoy first, but then I'm worried I'll get hooked... Perhaps I will stick with the cheap one, so I don't know what I'm missing out on...

Yes I have, but at $800/ kilo it might be cheaper to use P . Wait, thats almost 30 times dearer! Its one of those things you should try at least. You can buy it in small quantities though, $40 for 50grams to try. I find other coffee hard to take after the Vietnamese Weasel.

On Classic hits radio station the topic for the day was on Coffee and how many do you drink per day and the damage coffee can do to you long term. Well anyway people could ring up and tell the station how many coffee's they drink. One woman rang up all happy chappy obviously on a caffeine high telling them she drinks up to 40 cups per day.

40 cups! A housewife who loves her coffee where every spare moment she said she grabs a coffee. I use to drink about 20 per day and I was a walking hypo talkative maniac when I look back but I just thought I was normal. 40 cups I could just imagine the state she would be in. And if she adds sugar with her coffee well that just ups the hyperactivity. Dangerous!

Thought I would resurrect this one because I wanted to recommend the Brasil Coral single-origins coffee that Coffeelab have at the moment. Simply superb, one of my all time favourite single-origin beans!

Anybody in Wellington should try Lamason in that little lane off Manners Street where Fix is.

They do the siphon thing and it is amazing, it has been a long time since I described coffee as 'light' without meaning 'weak', but they do it. Makes most espresso taste like toxic mud.

Didn't anybody tell you I was a hacker?

Got this for $16 from KMart Palamy and got a Grinder that does 3 types of grind from More Wilsons for $37 .
Coffee Machine

The coffee i am currently getting is the 1KG of Chicco D'oro coffe Beans a cheap option from Pack and Save.

Any suggestions on places to get good bags of coffee online living in Ohakune there is not many options at the Supermarket.

So, confession: I don't like coffee. Never got the taste for it. Love the smell of roasting beans, and brewing coffee, hate the taste. I don't even enjoy coffee cake or tiramasu, not even Kahlua.
It weird though, as far as I can tell, I should like it - I love dark chocolate, black beer and caffeinated beverages. So every now & then I'll try a cup, and every time its awful.
OTOH, I can make a pretty good cuppa, and am a qualified amateur on the espresso machine - my previous workplace had a cafe-grade machine in the break-room, now I can't stand most cafe hot chocolates - the barristas might know coffee, but they suck at chocolate.

I've been starting the day with a Nespresso infusion for the last 10years. As freitasm says they're great for consistency (I've got a couple of machines), but only 1 is at home.

Somewhere in the garage I've also got a Saeco Incanto machine that grinds from beans and makes a fresh cup at the push of a button. Needs a new gasket in the boiler/pressure block so been out of service for a bit, found this better when you're going thru more coffee as it means you're keeping the beans fresher.

Best coffee I've had? In Ethiopia. Lady took fresh beans, roasted them, ground them and made coffee (washing the cups with boiling water and adjusting the fire with her bare hands!!). Think we bought a shot of coffee for half the village too

I'm there every day I'm in Wellington and they're open. Siphon's are my coffee of choice :)
