ScottStevensNZ: Paranormal Activity. Very good and very creepy.

Really ? We felt it was very average and sat there waiting for something exciting to happen....

PA2 looks a bit better.

PA2 does look good - prequel to PA apparently. I think what I liked about the film was *not* really seeing anything but hearing loud thumps and bangs :)

pageweon: i found the book of Eli a tad preachy towards the end.. thoroughly enjoyable for the most part just the ending left me rolling my eyes

I thought it was a bit preachy too. Also thought it was a bit 'End of the world lite' (unlike Threads or the Day After)

I thought Paranormal Activity was rubbish it was literally watching someones video memoirs. Couldn't they have squashed it down to maybe 20 - 30 mins and still kept the entire amount of actuall (what's supposed to be) scary bits.

I will however watch the sequeal/prequel as i'm a sucker for punishment. Please note i will not see it at the movies.

I'm waiting for the Tron sequel. Which from the clips alone has my daughter interested and she has never seen the original and doesn't really like scifi. Also probably see The Social Network even though I don't have Facebook.

Das Experiment (2001)

Good movie, it's in german.  Some bits of the movie storyline seemed a bit spurious, but most of it was really good.  It's about a psychological experiement where a group of volunteers are divided into prisoneers and guards and left for 14 days and things get out of hand. 8/10

Take Him To The Greek

Funny, passes the time, I enjoyed it. 7/10

This will be the next movie I watch

Ritana (2002) - aka Returner

It's The Terminator, Transformers, Indepence Day, Equilibrium and The Matrix all rolled into one and in Japanese.  The action is described as great and smart. I'm pre rating it 10/10

I have to say that Returner (Ritana) looks good enough to watch hehe. I have never had issues with foreign action films. In fact 1 I would recommend would be Banlieue 13 (District B13) it's a French film and some of the stunts are amazing. They managed a sequel which was pretty good too Banieue 13 - Ultimatum.

Also the one mentioned above Ritana there has obviously warranted a US Version as I had no idea of there being a German Version but there is one called The Experiment with Adrian Brody and Forrest Whittaker. It's pretty good normally I would watch the originals first then the US remakes but may have to try to get that German version to watch.

The Kids Are All Right, About two kids (girl 18, boy 15) raised by a lesbian couple, that decide to find their biological father (a sperm donour). Interesting some times, good story, predictable in other parts: 7/10 for an artsy movie...

Harry Potter 7, part 1 - 5/10. Clearly stretched to fill 2.5 hours to justify splitting the last book into two movies.

Also saw How to Train Your Dragon at home. 8/10 - Greatly entertaining. Having a cat that looks like Toothless also added to the fun. :)

I sat mostly bored and unmoved during that movie. Mind you, I'm not scared of the dark and don't believe in anything remotely paranormal.
