PhantomNVD: People who drive with their fog lights on ALL THE TIME!!!
This is worse in Europe, where rear (red) foglight are compulsory. Most cars here do not have them. However, they are very bright and can be seen from miles away on a clear night and are extremely annoying when you are doing 120kmh on a motorway at 3am which is mostly empty, apart from the joker whose bright red foglights are dazzling you.
I have seen the police in the UK pull in front of such herberts and use the matrix sign in their back windows to display the message "Turn Your Foglights Off!"

MikeAqua: My neighbour just fired up his weed whacker at 7am on a Saturday morning.
If I ever write a biography of living in the Wairarapa, it will be called 'Chainsaws At The Weekend'
Because so many people out here still prefer 18th century heating methods for the home, all through the summer, weekends are filled with the sound of Stihls getting the wood felled for the winter.
Personally I find it easier to just press 'on' on the Fujitsu control....

I'm getting annoyed seeing events being slammed by the media and public for being too PC and too health and safety focussed etc.
I know of some events (such as the Manawatu Gorge walk) that have been cancelled because businesses are declining the use of their land/equipment etc.
Often the groups being knocked are full of volunteers also.
Bottom line is whilst we celebrate bringing back the risk in playgrounds for our young, the health and safety liabilities and paperwork overheads for businesses has just ramped up significantly.
There's a growing disconnect between the free and easy going country we want to believe ourselves to be, and the realities of the business regulations/legislative environment that's been created here.

I don't see the problem. Fog lights by definition are dipped very low, and not particularly bright. They will be less irritating than (e.g.) low main beams.

The concern is not with the forward facing lights, which are as you describe.
The problem is that in Europe, it is mandatory to have a (very bright) red rear-facing light fitted to your car so that you are highly visible to following traffic in thick fog.
When there is no fog, these simply serve to dazzle following drivers.

Yes, I wondered if the reason the annual rail walk was cancelled because of the huge increase in liability that Kiwi Rail would face if someone got hurt. Kiwi Rail don't make any money from this, but face large fines for any safety breaches.
Edit:
How would it be possible to guarantee safety for something like this:

It is illegal for a reason. Try driving to work on the outskirts of town when it is dark and the road is slick from rain and some tosser in a Subaru with his enormous fog lights comes the other way... you can't see anything

Google gmail account management.
I have several gmail accounts for myself and different family members.
Why is it when you sign out, it gives you an option to add a new account. But, new accounts always seem to disappear (in chrome) at some time after you sign out of them. I don't clear cookies/cache, so why do they even give you the option?
The Google user account signon and management process has become over done. Gimme just a field for username and password and let me get on with it.

Probably still safer than driving on the other side during winter... ![]()
Because of the vehicles or falling rocks?

Hmmm... How good a guarantee do you want? Asteroid-proof? Earthquake-proof? How many people have been injured in the last 18 years when it did run? Last year "everyone emerged unscathed".
Or have they been economising on track maintenance, to the extent that it's now dangerous to a person walking (let alone to a train). ![]()
Oh wait.... it is safe after all! ![]()
Might of said this one before not sure...
People that buy your auction on Trade Me, then a short time later, "Oh sorry I dont need it anymore"
RAGEEEEEEEEEEE
People that write "of" instead of "have", such as "should of" instead of "should have". Or even "might of" instead of "might have"...
