Something small that annoys me......Intolerance

That's not small.

1) People who stand right in the middle of a door way

2) Know-it-alls ( no room to learn because they just know it all, arguing isn't even worth the time )

3) People who stand in front of the dam tv!!!!!!!!!

3) untidy (everything)

4) drivers who are too cool to use their dam indicators.

5) Shopping Centre's, queues , people :)

Cud go on for daes! ( this ones for the spelling bee's ) :)

Car spam - the rubbish people stick under your windshield wiper.

I’m not sure if this qualifies as a small annoyance, or even as an annoyance. I would be interested to know what others think.

Today I went shopping in town. A paralympic charity was conducting a collection campaign. This is a worthy cause and I have no trouble supporting it, but I was rather put off by the way they were going about it, with collectors at tables in front of every shop actively encountering people. It made me uncomfortable and I found it annoying. I do have charities I support. I carefully select them after researching their work and overheads. I normally never respond to cold calling or street collectors, though this time I was caught off-guard and, as I said, I don’t object to the cause.

So am I entitled to feel annoyed? I’m honestly not sure. I did feel ambushed and I resented that. The collectors were well-orchestrated, like a WWII bombing campaign. I have no doubt they will bring in a lot of money. I know good causes struggle these days, so maybe this kind of thing is necessary, but I didn’t like it. So is my reaction over the top? I would like to know.

If you want to make a contribution - make one direct to the charity.

Any donation you make to collectors in malls are unlikely to be to volunteers and from my experience in Australia, approx 2-5% of your donation will make it to that charity.

The rest is paid to a company that leases space, hires staff (often students) and even with only 2-5% going to the charity - they still get more than if these companies were not used to collect for them.

Same for texting donations - Charities only get a small cut

There is a term for these people, charity muggers, or chuggers. 

Some charities absorb most of their donations in administration fees (ie, the collectors get the cash). You don't know when they approach you on the street like this. 

I just donate to red cross . At least you can trust your money goes to where needed.

Chuggers are everywhere  - outside petrol station doors, streets, etc. Even if you donate to one of the collectors, you'll get chugged at the next stop for the same charity.

Avoid eye contact, and if you relent and catch their eye, just a firm, No thanks. Eventually, the feeling of annoyance will disappear if you do this often enough.

I prefer sausage sizzles for the local fundraisers - at least I get something for my coin :-)

My policy is to not donate on the street, not donate over the phone and not answer surveys over the phone either. "No, thanks" and don't get on my way.

That's easy: just ask them to hold the sausage but give you plenty of onions.

I am not sure what pisses me off the most: People who don't use their indicator, or people who start indicating AS they are breaking AND turning.

How about those who indicate left entering a roundabout, then again to exit?
