Methegod: Hi all
We’ve applied end of March 2021 via paper application . On Feb 24th we received confirmation letter which we did confirm immediately. Since then no news, so followed up 3 weeks ago which they said they are checking our translations to verify accuracy (we did translate through official translation services but apparently needs to be verified again).

No other news, I only assume (hope) the 2 month timeframe provided for approval holds for us, maybe a bit delay due to holidays.

Question: has any of you had confirmation to approval take more than 2 month? Any ideas?

Your one most likely approved just check your post box for approval letter

Can you tell me which location did you apply ?

Handsomedan:

Wife and I applied online in August 2021.

No correspondence of any sort until today: Citizenship has been granted.

We must've been an easy case to manage. Been here since 1972 (wife) and 1974 (me).

That's fantastic - congratulations.

I'm new to this forum.  My son is an NZ Citizen by descent and I applied for him to be upgraded to a citizenship by grant in December 2021.  This was a paper application.  I was told not to expect to hear anything about his application until late this year.  Sigh.  He's already a citizen.

My husband applied in January 2022 this year.

Hard to believe it has gotten so bad with wait times.

Just had a note through from DIA that there'll be no ceremony and certificate will be printed on 11th May.

Happy days.

Hey all, quick question.
Is there a grace period after you receive your NZ passport before you can travel? Do you need to wait a period of time before traveling or once you get the passport you can?

Hi,

How do you know when your certificated is printed,   Do they email you when printed or you see the printed date on the document?

Cheers

Cheers,

Very inserting thought because I was approved on the 20th of March and I have not received any communication from the Ceremonies team as yet.

Well, I'll wait another 3 weeks to complete the 2 months period.

Cheers,
