msukiwi:

I also noticed today... if you look at the Top / Right, the Chinese Consulate have added another camera that looks down Hansons Lane.

Looks like an ideal place to put large "F U Xi" signs. Or write it on the back of the "ROAD MARKING" sign.

Went for a walk in the rain to the corner. The Chinese Consulate has four new cameras covering Hansons Lane now! (Plus the ones they already had!)

Are they expecting something?

Often Consulates have no parking along frontages. Maybe they are joining your neighbourhood watch group.

It's a separated Cycleway the whole way along the frontage, but several Consulate visitors a day park in it! Never ever been "shooed" by any Consulate staff, or the security guard parked opposite!

Further to the Chch Chinese Consulate putting up more cameras last week:

At about 3.30 this morning, my camera caught a guy wearing white painting overalls, hood up, mask, gloves, and an umbrella shielding him from anyone driving past heading to the Consulate, and coming back past about 3 minutes later!

I wonder if it is a coincidence!

I hereby deny owning any white painting overalls.

Just saw a person filming the Chinese Consulate cameras etc (And my property frontage - looking direct at my camera as he walked past!) with his phone from my Street! The plot thickens!

Maybe buying a few hundred of these and sticking them all around the consulate would be a suitably childish (and appropriate) thing to do...?

Probably to put an angry post on neighborly about all the cameras in the area spying on them and needing a thicker tinfoil hat.

Just wait till they start opening China ( CCP ) Police stations here.
Start operating with no legal juistdiction nor co-operation with local authorities.

Beijing secretly set up more than 100 'overseas police stations' across the world to spy on, harass and in even repatriate Chinese citizens living in exile

They don't need their own here!

The Police and CCC already turn a blind eye / deaf ear re anything related to the Consulate (That is in their (Consulate) favour)!

Like their Visa visitors using the Cycleway as their own private car park - wardens ride past and ignore them!

When the "great wall" fell down on the footpath / cycleway, the CCC weren't interested! - Or Worksafe!

Security can do what they want! Yellow Lines you say? Nah they are our reserved parking spots!

etc etc!

Mm, nice car you've got parked there on the cycleway. Pity it might get accidentally scratched by the handlebars or the pedals as cyclists squeeze past...

Walked to the corner this morning. Yet another camera pole/arm has appeared by the small gate.

Consulate inSecurity moron parked as usual on the Hansons Yellow Lines! While he has a chat to his mate taking over!

Plenty of legal parks available as usual! But they know "they are above the law"!

Security Company is owned by the Chinese Government via Hong Kong. (The Christchurch Manager told me that a long time ago!) Funnily, they have no asian guards, so to give the appearance of not being "related etc".

Interesting who uses them!
