Ah, also watched Four Lions (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1341167/combined). A lot of hype, people on Twitter saying it would be funny, etc. The story is interesting - showing four dellusioned useless British jihadi - but not that funny after all. I give it 6.5/10.

saw the memoirs of a geisha... the movie should really be called "I do not understand" because that's the only thing I remembered about the main character... she never understands anything... really annoying... the movie itself- meh... not really impressed... it's made to appeal to the western audience...

Land Before Time - got it for Miss 3.5 - she enjoyed it but I thought it was a bit dark and depressing myself :)

Shutter Island - I enjoyed it, good solid movie. 8/10

Jackass 3D - Tried watching the 3D version with the blue/red glasses but all I see with those is yellow/green tint... so just watched the Bluray 2D - good laugh as always - 7.5/10

Buried - I compare it to PhoneBooth in a way - took a little bit to get started but held my attention. Must have been a cheap movie to make ;) 6.5/10

Since I've been stuck at home with a cold, I did a little bit of catch up with my movies library.

Faster and The Expendables - 8/10 for the action.
Typical guy movies: lots of explosions and no real story. :)

Shutter Island - 8/10
Nice Scorcese flick. Gripping story.

Red - 7/10
Action/comedy flick originated from comics. Still watching it. Fun movie.

I like watching the old western movies that are there via some guys who post the whole movies somehow. All old classic clean movies

Please don't go off topic. Post the last movie you watched, or don't post at all. And no talk about pirate movies.

Battle Los Angeles - There's lots of video games that feel like they're based on a movie genre, but this was a movie that felt like it was based on a game genre - specifically the whole alien invasion shooter genre.  It's pretty standard fare....marines deployed on the front line to rescue civilians trapped in an enemy zone.  They get cut off, they have to find their way back.  There's boss battles along the way, and even the whole "protect this position for 3 minutes while the air strike is on it's way" scenario common to all those games you've likely played.  The alien tech is unique and quite well done.  As for story/writing/characters - don't expect much.

One thing that was amusing - it seems like they were trying to portray a multi-cultural Marine force - it was like the "Small World" Disneyland ride - a montage of different cultures all protecting the "American Dream" :)

Lucky Number Sleven/The Wrong Man
8/10
The first half to 2/3 of this film was slightly annoying because you were wondering why the main character was acting the way he was acting, but towards the end it got extremely good. Well worth a watch.
Very similar to The Usual Suspects, which is another fantastic film.

Yep it was superb filmmaking, Aronofsky is a master!  It had me enthralled from start to finish.

Person of Interest - About a stressed soldier returning from the Iraq war. Obviously, though not overtly political, slightly cryptic, but enjoyable like a puzzle. Lots of debate about what actually happened if watched as a group. Good.

Beyond the game - Warcraft champions Grubby and Sky followed around and profiled in the leadup to a competition. Very shallow and overly long - but would have been good if shortened.

My Wedding and Other Secrets - really a good representation of the Asian family culture. Great movie!
