reven: Listen was good, the rest have been a let down IMO. Was excited about new doctor, but so far I havent really liked him. Tennant and Smith are my favourites.

Paul1977: "Listen" has been the best episode of the season so far, but two things annoyed me:
1. Why did Clara feel the need to lie to the Doctor about having no connection to Rupert or Orson?
2. I thought it was impossible to return to Gallifrey since it was timelocked, they explained this away somehow in Day Of The Doctor, but then they did it in this episode with no explanation whatsoever.

reven: was the barn actually on Gallifrey? Not sure if it was ever said that it was.

BurningBeard: Listen was fantastic! Proper spooky at parts. I like that there was literally nothing there.

1. Perhaps she felt the new doctor would get mad at her and she was afraid?
2. Remember, Clara is "The Impossible Girl".

I'll give you 1. because it just comes down to character decisions, but I won't budge on 2. if that is the answer it is just lazy writing and more of what I am talking about.

I don't think it's lazy at all. It fits very well with Clara's relationship with The Doctor. The whole point of Clara is that she splinters into a million pieces and appears all along The Doctor's timeline to nudge him in the right direction to become The Doctor. We have already seen her as far back as The Doctor stealing the TARDIS in the first place. It makes perfect sense she would have influenced him even further back than that. After all, he had to be not just a Time Lord but a Time Lord with a very specific outlook on life. The Time Lords as a whole just want to maintain the status quo in the universe. Interfering is against everything they believe in.

But that story line about Clara influencing his past ended before The Day Of The Doctor, so I disagree with you there.
