old3eyes: I see on ITV that it's been dumped intro the Saturday morning 8.00am slot .  wonder how long before that happens here??

In my household that was peak time viewing for the kids.

DarthKermit: I didn't bother watching episode 2 tonight. How was it?

Some really.. REALLY bad kiwi accents coming through (archives manager)

More focus on Parker which the UK loved. And a single story line which helped things flow better.

Could fix the whole calling each other by Thunderbird name though.. and abundance of music. I don't recall it being that bad originally :P

My girls are enjoying it, but the pilot (ep 1 & 2) was much better than the 'space' episode (ep 3) which went on and on with the same content, much like a certain pod race film a few years back...

The girls look out for Lady Penelope, in her pink car.  Makes one wonder who the target audience for this stuff is.
Liked the link to the originals with the real sets, and think animated characters was a good compromise.

I don't mind a bit of a revamp, as otherwise it's exactly the same dated production, but don't want it taken too far, as otherwise it's something completely different now, and therefore why call it the original name at all etc.
Mission Impossible was like this for me, in that the original series was a team approach, the IMF, but the remake kills everyone in the first 10 minutes and then it's just the greasy Tom Cruise show.

Thunderbirds though? All good I reckon.
See it's on NZ TV now, and not that far behind, so I'll stop streaming/downloading that one...

The pilot was enough to turn me off it.

lol oi!

I mean, it was meant to be either american, or brittish (being in london and all at the time) but the kiwi twang it kept switching too was funny. As bad as phil Keoghan and his ever switching one

Not all Kiwis who live in London work in pubs though.

Not sure what you mean by "REALLY bad kiwi accents coming through".

An accent is just an accent... neither good nor bad.

AFAIK all the voice parts are done in London.

I am pretty sure, that none of the people doing the doing the voices were New Zealanders. I think they were all British.

Was it just me or were there hints of Battlestar Galactica and Babylon 5 during the space sequences?

Babylon 5! Definitely, worthy of a remake. Best TV SciFi ever IMO.

I believe it was shot for HD  so why not a re-release on TV.  Oh wait .  It's not a reality  show

That's Kayvan Novak, a pretty well known English actor of Iranian heritage. Notably he was in Four Lions in a classic role.
