I like Pepsi Max, Coke Zero, Coke No Sugar etc. Usually drink Pepsi Max because it is much cheaper at the supermarket but will get No Sugar now when it's on sale.

But man, went to the movies the other day and got a Pepsi Max. First sip and it was SWEET. So strange considering how often I drink it.

I've started to really like the Pepsi Max Vanilla that I've only just noticed; I'll get Diet Coke if is near by and on special otherwise I much prefer Pepsi Max because of its stronger taste and is generally cheaper even at full price.

Pepsi Max Vanilla is good. Either that or Diet Coke or Coke Zero with Vanilla; can't stand regular Zero or Sugar Free.

Coke Zero tastes like the old 'Diet Pepsi' (then became 'Pepsi Light') so the taste never really grew on me. As for Sugar Free, I think the idea is that it is close to the sugary version (they taste very similar) so I guess their goal is to go, "see, we are trying to encourage people to get off sugary drinks by offering a non-sugar version that tastes almost the same" if there is any regulatory movements in the future regarding sugar.

That seems a bit stupid - isn't the whole point of having a sugar tax is to stop people from drinking sugary drinks? I hope they also tax things like orange juice as well which is just as bad as drinking sugary soft drinks.

No tax on fruit juices. More surprising: No sugar tax on cakes, biscuits etc...

Politicians aren't always the best at keeping thing sensible.

Ice Cream is exempt the tax as well :)

You have gotta love Government Taxes and Boundary issues, -

Officially in the UK, Pringles are not potato crisps, and sausage rolls from the oven are VAT free, while those kept warm in a warmer are taxable... A chocolate coated small round dried sponge is VAT free , but a chocolate coated biscuit is taxed....

Which is why trying to GST exempt ANY food in NZ is an absolutely terrible idea.
