I would love this to integrate into my future movie room (whenever I can afford to purchase a home - if ever).

Currently my movie room is my bedroom but would love to automate dimming/turning off the lights as soon as plex starts playing a movie or tv show, among turning them on dimmed whilst paused or back on full when stopped! :)

That would be awesome!

I've been thinking of getting into home automation. Maybe this will be the start...

1st idea was to use these lights in my lounge for movie nights. I'd like to automate the lights to dim and change colour. Start simple to get myself into it.

Would love to try and have the Phillips Hue system in the house. Would be looking to put in the lounge and would be useful for movie nights. Currently have one smart light only from lifx and would love to expand.

I won't put my name in the hat as I already have a HUE system throughout the house (and can highly recommend it - although if I was doing it again I would probably go for smart-switches behind the light switch like Fibaro or whatever the modern equivalent is - I've got them in the sleepout and they are great - anyway I digress).

Just a shout out to Mauricio for a great site and great giveaways....

If I won the Philips Hue prize I would use it to automate the light levels in our ensuite based on time-of-day, so that a middle of the night pee would be lit very minimally and at a warm colour temperature (making it easier to get back to sleep again), while the light level would be at maximum and around 5000K at other times.

I use home assistant for home automation, but I haven't done many lights yet. I'd love to give this set a try.

Here's an example of a thermostat that I have automated using home assistant.

Have looked at some kind of Smart Lighting for Home for a while now, so the chance to actually win a Starter Kit like the Hue is great!! Would use it in the lounge for some 'mood lighting' for watching TV.

My Brightest Idea: "The Smart Sunrise Sanctuary"

I love Hue! I used to have one and used it to create a calm wake up zone in our toddler’s bedroom using the colour Ambiance bulb to gentle lighten the room with colour so he knew when it was time to get up. The Hue Go light could be used to simulate a gentle sunrise each morning. The lights would slowly transition from soft pinks and warm oranges to daylight white, helping our little one wake up naturally and calmly (instead of with the usual 6am chaos!).

At night, the Hue Go could become a soothing bedside glow with sleepy blues and purples, paired with a bedtime routine trigger via Alexa or Siri that dims the room, plays lullabies, and gradually fades the lights out.

Plus, I’d love to integrate the system with our existing smart plugs and motion sensors — when someone walks into the hallway at night, the lights would softly turn on to guide their way.

My office has no windows, so these would be a great addition to bring in some color to the room!

I would love to win these to set them up for my daughter's room. She already uses colour papers over the bed lamp to create her own colour shades in her room. She would feel ecstatic with the automation.

I'd give the lights to my mother so that she can turn on some lights without getting up from the chair (she's still recovering from a hip replacement) .  Would be handy to turn on the lights from a chromecast remote if possible   Failing that, some sort of automation.

This will be the lifeline of our household, the one thing standing between morning chaos and sweet, uninterrupted sanity.

Nestled in my son's room, the Ambience light takes on the noble quest of prying him from his slumber and ushering him into a new day—hopefully on time for school. It begins with kindness: a soft, welcoming glow, gently coaxing him from his dreams like a golden sunrise, as if he were the protagonist in a heartwarming Disney movie.

For a few blissful minutes, he will soak in its warm hues. But patience, much like mine, is a finite resource. The light will not remain benevolent for long.

Enter the bulbs, stationed like watchful guardians in the two bedside lamps. Should he refuse the call of the golden morning, the sentinels will be activated—flaring to life with two angry red flashes, pulsing like ominous warning signals. A wise child—one who, on occasion, may find himself lacking such wisdom—will recognize the urgency. Delay is dangerous. Ignoring these lights is an invitation for a greater force: the parent.

Our hope? That this vivid morning spectacle will tame the daily battle (especially in the gloomy months of winter) and restore peace with its shimmering gold, sparing us all from unnecessary morning warfare.

My oldest child and I just completed building their very first PC together using second-hand parts.

If we won the Philips Hue kit, I'd add it into our home automation so that they could use a voice command to turn on the PC and setup their RGB lighting all with a single command!
