Lately the content of the 6pm news has been annoying me, because of:

a) the obvious cherry picking and NZ bias and daily attempts to drum up a shocking new breaking story etc

b) the fact that a 6pm news bulletin is now totally defunct, given the instantaneous nature of the internet these days

c) the nature of the content at that time period (really suitable for kids before 8:30pm?) which IMHO is allowed because it's 'the news'.

d) live crosses that contribute nothing, and give the appearance of drama whilst delivering information that could have been provided from a studio. eg it's really windy out here, or behind me is a building where people are working late into the night.

3) the move years ago to full a full hour with news. It used to be half and hour, followed by a current affairs type Holmes program. Then they moved to 1 hour that absorbed the current affairs bit, and now they put that on afterwards also. This has lead to the showing of the weather 3 times, a half way stage review of what they've just talked about, copious good sort man and his dog stories, and lame a$s padding chit chat between 3 hosts etc. Seriously?! Prime at 5:30 works well for us of the 3 offerings, simply by having less waffle.

Weather forecasts that are guesses, and change dramatically even on the day.

If you can't nail a 2 day forecast, then how relevant is a 10 day offering?

Hahaha @ Jaxson, because that reminds me of another small thing that annoys me. Or is it actually a larger and more dangerous issue?

A head "teacher" that either can't spell, or relies on their spell checker to correct their inability to recognise the correct language. Unfortunately, even after being advised that it is set to american spelling 8 months earlier - they still get it wrong??

Oh, oh, oh, and a head "mistress" or "master" that insists on being called a head "teacher" because they take "offence" at gender perception?

What is going on in this world?

Accommodation providers who say they haven't debited your CC on the online booking (even though you entered it) and make you pay via the eftpos terminal -- then you find you were charged twice, and the accommodation provider says you only paid once, despite seeing your CC bill.

And, the Hahei holiday campground website , which does not list their rates on their rooms and rates page...

Tell me what I am not seeing? Really, I cannot think of a poorer design than not putting your prices on your prices page. Unless it is me being a thicky :)

I would say ones that only show 91 on the sign to compete with gull, and still charge a fortune extra for 95 which is not on the sign. looking at you caltex up in albany.

The recently refurbished BP in Martinborough has snazzy new pumps etc but still no sign to let us know that the fuel is 10% + more expensive than, say, Masterton!

When my missus was working in Auckland last year, she could buy 91 at $1.77 when it was $2.05 here!

Businesses (esp retail) who think 'competition' means 'charging the same for X as every other store.'

It's rare to see a true competitive disruption where X suddenly gets (permanently) sold for 20% less than every other place so that the retailer doing so gets all the business.
