Applied 28 Aug 2021, called them up last Friday to touch base. Was informed that I should keep a hawk eye with my email as I should be receiving an email from a CO in the next 6 weeks but call them again after that if there's nothing 😅

You're actually quite fortunate they'll even talk to you - in Australia, the department responds with "we are still within the 22 month processing timeline, we will not provide you further information". (Though in my case the reason is how long it takes the New Zealand government to respond with a one word "Yes" or "No" to an email - apparently that takes several weeks).

My BIL family applied in July 2021. They received their approval email last friday, if that is of help to anyone.

Hi @Rmani, thanks for the info, Do you know what date they applied in July 2021 also, did they receive any email about allocating to CO?

Been 13 months and no CO yet! same answers everytime I call :( 

Anyone got lucky recently from the abandoned backlog ( July Aug Sep 21 )

Not sure about the date. They didn't get any info when CO was assigned. They just received an email asking to confirm few details and within days they received the approval.

P.S. according to their website "The oldest applications now being assessed were submitted in August 2021." Now I am wondering, how does that suppose to work if some people from Jul do not have a decision yet?

3rd of Sep; it’s Saturday are they working over the weekend? 🤨

Apparently not very uncommon. I saw a few people here and on the ENZ forum said they got a "confirm your details email" on Saturday, and one said he got "citizenship approval" email on Sunday
