MadEngineer:

You probably know all this

Nope, no idea - you're talking to someone who used /bin/mail for email until forced at gunpoint into this Microsoft garbage (hey, if it was good enough for Ken and Dennis, it's good enough for me). Thanks for the explanation!

In terms of it being a config issue, it wouldn't surprise me if the mail monkeys thought it'd be a great idea to turn it on somewhere, but also that I'd probably have more luck asking the cat to fix it than them - after two to three years they still haven't managed to get mailing lists working properly, it takes weeks just to get a response to a ticket whereas the cat will at least meow and purr a bit as soon as it hears its name mentioned.

$399 for a PS5 Elite Controller. Half the price of a console.

Home Alone fans ‘mind blown’ over movie fact

https://www.nzherald.co.nz/entertainment/home-alone-fans-mind-blown-over-movie-fact/LLHCJOSZS5BL3NGIC6OTH7COGQ/

How have these so called "Fans" not realised this. Even if you didn't know your actors, big clue was when Kevin recognised the gold tooth.

If you can't laugh at yourself then you probably shouldn't laugh at others.

Good grief, and for the Herald to report this as a "secret"? Mind boggling. Meanwhile they complain that people won't pay for the "journalism".

They publish it because this is what people actually read.

If you insist on reading every page including the entertainment section and the horoscopes then you're not going to have much time left in the day for serious business.

Crikey, you mean that I have lived all these years without knowing that vitally important bit of information. Life will never be the same again!

Might have to read the Herald to see what other vitally important stuff I don't know.

Easy summary:
Everything you do, you are doing it wrong according to someones opinion.

Also: Someone you don't know and don't care about but who has a recognisable name is doing something you don't care about but whose story makes good clickbait.

Bolt-action pens. These seem to be all over Kickstarter and Etsy and similar sites. I mean, yeah, it's cute the very first time you use it, but after that?

“Beachgoers are being turned away from a popular Auckland beach on Christmas Day after police said it had reached capacity.”

I never knew beaches had a “capacity”.

My field outside must therefore also have one. Why has nobody told me what it is?!

I thought that was more or less self policing.  When you can't get a park close enough ("close enough" varies from person to person), then you go somewhere else.

Nope. People will just keep piling in until something breaks, in its most dangerous form a crowd collapse or crush. This is why stadiums both limit attendance and have a pile of physical security measures in place to try and address this.

That in 2022 I had to update the bios on my <1 Year old computer, by copying the file to a USB stick specifically formatted to FAT32 and boot to bios to get it to update. In 2022!
