Twits using their loud power tools on good Friday.
Great day for chainsawing. During lockdown.

Way to go d**k.

My wife is mowing our lawns. We have an electric mower and we feel guilty using that. I am inside I can't hear it. If we had a petrol mower we would leave it until Saturday.

That'd be extremely frustrating if they were the only days you got off...

@Ge0rge Very true. When ever we are going to use something noisy like our shredder we pop around and see all our neighbours to ask if they are OK with it.

Good on you - that's so much better than a law saying blanket no - plus you also get to know your neighbours, which is lacking a lot I feel.

I have a friend who works 5 1/2 days a week. Normally gone before dawn, home after dark. If it rains on Saturday, he only has Sunday to do outside jobs - mow lawns, cut firewood etc. If the law said you may not make noise on Sunday, he'd be screwed. A quick yarn with the neighbor on Sunday morning and who knows, they may even help.with the wood, to the benefit of both.

Well, I could understand it, if your neighbour was running it during the 7:30-9:30am period as ours was this morning, but after 9am, I'd imagine that would be pretty reasonable. It's a holiday, people do DIY.

The lack of deep fry cooking instructions on things that used to have them, just to be able to get more stars and ticks on silly little logos on the packaging that don't matter.

My Air NZ Silver status expired a couple of months ago.

My wife’s was due to expire shortly. Air NZ gifted her another year. Then this morning, Emirates gave her a free upgrade to Silver even though she’s only flown London return once with them!

Grrr.

Don’t move to the Wairarapa if you don’t like chainsaws. Out here the people who persist in using medieval heating never stop cutting the stuff up.

I’ve always said that if I wrote a biography about living out here I’d title it “Chainsaws At The Weekend”!

TV reporters who talk about ‘lines’ eg. outside supermarkets. Lines are things they have in the US - we have queues, thanks. Queues. I dislike the Americanisation of the Kiwi language.

This funky Corona thing keeps me away from my office - as it seems - for the rest of the year. There is nothing economically to worry about but I love my job occupation.
