Having a toilet plumbing issue during lockdown.

You can get a plumber to look at that. And, on the plus side, there will be no shortage of plumbers who will be only too happy to come and fix it immediately.

Yeah, I know, it's just the thought of having to take someone out of their bubble right now.

Media that keep mentioning Wifi in headlines when they often referring to broadband.

2 examples within a matter of days.

Poor wifi means Auckland Mayor Phil Goff must keep up 86km office commute in lockdown

Gary Anderson, Daryl Gurney miss PDC home tourney due to unreliable WiFi

That's very common in the USA and I think they are getting from their counterparts. Even ads from large ISPs in US talk about WiFi instead of broadband.

Drivers attitudes to road rules during lockdown.

Had a few incidents riding my bike around the relatively quiet streets, where people either pull out of driveways without looking, or turn without looking or turn without signalling, or simply drive incredibly fast in the suburbs.

It's like the lack of cars has made people forget that there may actually be others on the road...

Yup. I saw an article earlier about how the 'only two cars on the road' in Belgrade managed to crash into each other.

...

..and just to be a smart*** pedant 😉, you could say the same about the term broadband when you really mean a high-speed, permanent internet connection.

(The term broadband has been around since the 80s, possibly earlier, and is [or was] a general term to describe wide bandwidth data transmission which can transport multiple signals and traffic types.)

Sometimes I use big words I don't always fully understand in an effort to make myself sound more photosynthesis.

Cheers 👍🏾

Anyway Stuff has now amended their article about the Auckland Mayor and replaced the word Wifi with "internet connection"

I'm guessing that Chili's are animals? Should they be in the pet section?

You may find that is because the majority of people would expect to find them there, rather than because it's necessarily accurate.

If you're getting technical, the chilli plant is a vegetable, and the chilli pepper is the fruit of that plant.

Why is this any different from the "contribution" NZ Herald asks for?
