Ah, but that was deliberate :)

Interesting, and touché.

OTOH, my post was grammatically incorrect but was it understandable?

I'm not grammar nazi, my problem is with un-understandability. There's a couple of prominent posters who have a 'stream of consciousness' style which is wordy, unclear and usually pretty poorly formatted for easy reading too.

If it's more than a paragraph, I often just skip over anything those posters write.

Most of the posters in this thread are just like chimpanzees on MDMA, full of feelings of bonhomie, joy, and optimism. Fred99 8/4/21

That's an excellent way to describe it. I have been seeking a way to describe it and that nailed it.

Posters who don't check their post for readability before posting. A couple of spelling errors and cut n paste remnants can turn your well reasoned post into a mess that looks like the output of a novice programmers response to a Turing test.

It's not helped by the mobile interface being poor. It's fairly difficult to check what you've written on a phone. Some browsers will reflow the forum's but it doesn't work on the editor so it's fairly easy to screw up posts on a phone.

Everyone has different styles. People who post in CAPITALS for emphasis make me want to punch things.

When I wake up in then morning and see someone has been banned but I don't know why as the offending posts have been deleted. It's a combination of curiosity and trepidation.

There's always a good reason.

All good, with the 8 hour time difference some mornings I log in and wonder what the heck just happened!

Switch to the desktop version of Geekzone when replying on a mobile device should sort out any issues you have. Works for me every time. It's easy to change back and forth between the mobile and desktop versions using Opera.

I must be missing all the fun. Haven't seen anyone banned yet.

Opera is ok but last pass doesn't work very well with it which is a real problem for me. In an ideal world the site would be mobile responsive rather than relying on switching backwards and forward from modes and needing to use a specific browser - I understand the reason why it isn't but in my opinion it's a not a good experience on mobile.

YMMV

Yes, Geekzone is a terrible experience on a mobile device. I've tried the suggested mobile browsers, and they're equally irksome. The old text mobile version of yore was a pleasure to use portrait on a handheld device. If only the font served was at least consistent I can adjust font size to make it readable, but even at 200% it will still serve up something looking about 3.5pt.

It's not going to change (for good reasons) and no point whinging, it's an explanation of why often posts from mobile devices aren't the best rather than a real complaint.
