FWIW Stuff is NZ's #2 ranked internet site after Trade Me <sp to hopefully avoid triggering Peter Reader>.  It's even ahead of Pornhub and NZGirls.co.nz.

Please don't call the goobers who read Stuff "morons" - or Stuff will morph into NZ's Fox clone, and we'll end up with Brian Tamaki as PM.

Rikkitic: Nothing exceptional here. Just a typical item by someone who doesn't know anything about journalism or aircraft. Why do people even keep reading Stuff? And if you must, why quote it here?

Nearly every news service drops a clanger now and then. Standard short news article apart from the irrelevant clanger at the end that someone probably insisted on adding and not the journo.

Today on Stuff

In Southland and Fiordland, snow was to lower to 300 metres overnight Sunday. North and west of Lumsden, about 15cm was expected to fall above 500cm and significant amounts above 800 metres.

So, snow down south. In Lumsden they expect 15cm of snow to fall above 5 metres. Builders, keep off ladders to avoid snow....

Fred99: The brief article concludes with some "WTF?" information:

"Journalist" had a quota and deadline.

[Edit] If you Google the phrase, you'll find it was copied from https://wikivividly.com/wiki/Cockpit -- presumably the "journo" needed to Google "cockpit door".

Actually, the article lists the features you get on your existing phone by installing the latest OS. It's basically saying "you don't need a new phone because you can get all this for free".

Not dumb this time but funny, on Stuff today

The Auckland residential housing market has slowed down and with it, so has the number of jobs for agents.

According to online job site Seek, the real estate sector of the jobs market shrunk by 27 per cent in the second quarter of 2018 and there was a 30 per cent increase in the availability of candidates for advertised jobs.

Former agent Leilani Sell said when she left the industry in 2017, it was already clear where things were heading.

I'm feeling very well informed today.  Ask me whether we're likely getting a CGT and I'll be able to answer either yes, no, maybe or all the above.

From the NZH:

I'd like to nominate whoever wrote the appalling sentence below for some sort of award. Clearly, being able to express yourself in English is no longer a requirement for "journalists".

"Because it was employment issue, there were privacy reasons she would not give more details." (sic).

NIMBYism

This is hardly worth reporting, let alone getting a video crew along to record it.

What lies behind Jacinda Ardern's appeal in the US?

Another journalist not knowing the difference between who's and whose:

The last New Zealand prime minister to attend UN leader's week was Sir John Key, who is schedule was usually heavy on business and trade opportunities.

Stuff again: (In a headline, not even buried in the story.)

A group of flatmates thought they has been robbed, but it turns out their university proctor took their bongs.

Good engrish eh!

Not only that, but like all "Journalists" they don't know the difference between "Robbed" and "Burgled". Here is a clue...If you weren't there, you weren't robbed!
