Stuff have now fixed the line on stuff.co.nz, but not the one on their "The Press" Newspaper page!

This gets right up my nose:

I mean, seriously? Looking at that page, there is no doubt you'd be left with the impression that "Rain, icy winds and snow" are expected today, but did they really need to publish it three times? They must have at least a dozen different headlines they could publish instead of repeating the same one over and over,

Does their editor or anyone from NZME even look at the front page of the Herald? Or do they just publish it like that and say, "that's a job well done!" and move on without even checking it? Seems awfully lazy and sloppy.

It's good to see that with all the serious news in the world (Trump at the UN, Brexit, Iran, Syria, the housing market etc .....), the Herald's choice of top story shows that it still has its eye on the ball, and its finger on the pulse of the Nation:

Nice to see they haven't lost their focus on serious news.

They then show a series of questions with answers at the bottom but the $1m question (which was about vitamin B) is not there.

I know this because I’ve just watched WWTBAM on Oz tv tonight.

Stuff's at it again, they open an articles for comments, then a few hours later all the comments have gone but the story is still open for comments. A similar issue is when they have one story but up to three headlines for the story spread across the website.  I think this is more accidental than on purpose - maybe they are so busy they lose track of things.  I've noticed when they have multiple headlines for the same article only one of those links leads to the article with the comments! This leads to people making very brief one line comments - that's if they bother at all.

That's a good thing - no?  I shudder to think what it could look like if there were comment on obituaries.

Oh wait - when the neck-beards, pearl-clutchers and velcro shoe wearing basement-dwellers post their nasty comments about a living person on Stuff, the victim doesn't get a chance to respond either.

Another fail from the NZ Herald, according the All Blacks v Springboks - All you need to know article, the sub header reads "All Blacks v Springboks, Sunday 6 October, 4.05am kickoff". Problem is Sunday will be the 7th of October, not the 6th.

No one is going to stop driving their car for a day. The fuel they don't buy on the boycott day they'll buy the day before or the day after.

Nett result? The fuel companies still sell the same amount of fuel, so no impact on them.

I had to check the calendar to make sure it wasn't the 1st of April.

This sort of news is as silly as the one about daylight saving causing the paint on your house to fade more quickly.
