I hope the remainder of your contributions here in 2023 are significantly better than this.

It's new year, I'm expecting a certain percentage of alcohol-influenced posting so prepared to overlook a few oddities.

Thank you for stepping into the breach, but I am completely sober. Two first-class gin-tonics and a glass of champagne have had no effect whatsoever. I have only taken the liberty of describing what I actually observe, and it is bizarre (at least here) and getting more and more bizarre. You may be far removed from it and therefore unable to comprehend it. Be that as it may.

$80 a litre NZ olive oil!

That's getting a bit towards the pricey end. I love the Olivo Estate Extra Virgin (the silver-medal 2021 vintage, not the gold-medal 2022 which isn't as good) which works out to about $60/litre, but for less special guests Pams Extra Virgin, using Tunisian olives rather than Italian export-grade lampante, where the money goes to small farmers in Tunisia rather than the Italian mafia, is fine, of all the supermarket-stocked oils I've tried that's by far the best I've found.

Helen and John who own Olivo were our next door neighbours for 14 years.

Why, are you against the consensual, equal cohabitation of man and woman? Or have I (possibly) expressed myself wrongly (which was not intended)? In any case, this constant categorisation of majorities by the world views of minorities gets on my nerves.

The latest hammer from a couple of crazy chickens is just that they demand that a fast food chain operating worldwide treat hamburgers and vegan hamburgers completely separately! I.e. double the logistics effort for an already resource-intensive FASTFOOD! I.e. the general public is additionally(!) burdened by the demands of a few crazy chickens, because they project their abstruse world views onto the majority. And with such people one should be able to talk sensibly, let alone live together? But maybe you also like the 5G demonstrators, who act in a similarly "intelligent" way. But whatever, unlike this minority, I am tolerant - but I don't have to accept everything.

Happy New Year, btw!

When you have people assuming you’re drunk it’s probably time to step away from the keyboard and get some fresh air.

I'm not sure why you would spend any time worrying about this kind of advocacy. The world will not end. This happens already. Sometimes as a commercial imperative. McDonalds in India for example and the Burger Fuel chain in NZ.

If I did that, I wouldn't have got as far in my life as others have allowed and still be able to look in the mirror. I suppose you don't know what I'm talking about. But let's not go there - I see it as a cultural difference. We can continue to discuss in German, maybe then I'll think someone is drunk and needs to get some fresh air? πŸ˜‰

It's not the end of the world, but fast food in itself is an environmental burden and doubling that doesn't sound smart to me. The goal should rather be avoidance, whether meat eater, vegetarian or vegan.

Tinkerisk: still cheaper than marrying a later quarrelling, over-eloquent, useless xanthippe who constantly blathers on about equality but can't contribute anything to a fit, daily life.

Clearly the exact opposite was the case for your example above.

I was trying to find the antonym of a word, so I tried Google.

"outrank antonym"

"Did you mean: outrank synonym?"

No, Google, that is literally the antonym of what I'm looking for...

PS. I rewrote the sentence, so I do not require any word suggestions :)

Sometimes, but only rarely, I lapse into a kind of sarcasm. Don't hold it against me. πŸ™‚

You should probably refrain. Sarcasm is actually funny. Your post was was just plain hard right offensiveness.

Our antenatal classes featured the term 'pregnant people' and I noted it for about a nano-second and then was using it myself within a couple of weeks without even thinking about it.

I don't think my partner felt devalued as a woman for having heard it.

To be able to judge that, you would have to know me de facto or know me so well that it would be clear that I cannot be further away from "right" (but also left) than New Zealand is from Germany. As far as I know, this section is called W.T.F? 😊

Seemed pretty much like TERFology to me. Not everyone fits nicely into left/right buckets.

In Tampa Florida someone apparently tried to get a boa constrictor on a plane as an 'emotional support' animal. Elsewhere, a six year-old shot a teacher during an argument. America is clearly W.T.F. crazy land!
