Current security system? Does a front door lock count? ![]()

I'm looking for something a little less... permanent

Why do you need a silencer?
A bit of noise might deter an intruder before the permanent solution.

I try to be a considerate neighbour ...

Currently have no security system.
That's because we currently have no house.
Living with neighbours waiting for the building consent and then the build.
We will eventually have a system, and this could be the basis of it or supplement it.
The strange thing about this thread is that people are openly telling the public what security systems they have (or not have). I am pretty sure a smart thief could find the home address of a number of people on here if they worked hard enough.
Maybe the competition was posted here as an intelligence test for people!
Yes I have a security system and having another/alternative one would be great and I wouldn't say no to any kind of tech.
Thank God we don't live in a country where having a gun would be classed a normal home security system.
Maybe if I could get this thru customs.....

A paradox system that we monitor, and a Type D Barker called Daisy.
No electronic security, but this one looks great
.
We have a micron system, which could be monitored if we didn't have fibre. Has three motion sensors and two fire alarms and a flashing light outside.
The people who installed it didn't know the code to set it, so when we bought the place they didn't know the code, it had never been set or used in its life. But the flashing red light outside is constantly flashing so I guess people don't know if its on or not.
We also have 4 cats, two of which love attacking unfamiliar people. Very funny to watch.
But a camera system mainly to watch what the cats are doing when we aren't at home would be cool.
a very frickn loud system that wifey never puts on, a little too friendly black cat (does this constitute bad luck curses???) a baseball bat and pitching wedge - the good graces of whomever might be above??

A friend of mine has a similar one. I have no idea where he got it from.
I'm sure you can get a cheaper version if $US2500 is a little expensive (It costs more than a fully working real one)
