I still havent use the churro maker I got at kmart a year or so back. Used the hotdog steamer a couple of time. Kitchen appliances are too much work to use.

How much whitegoods / small appliances are there in relationship to tech?

At Riccarton JB HiFi? I didn't see much in the way of appliances. The shop seems to be filled up with tech.

Has small appliances only - no whites. Had some good opening specials on a Microwave and the Ice Shaver (who really needs an Ice shaver), a Dyson Handheld vacuum.

About 6 aisles I suppose.

So no JB Home for Chch then... oh well, maybe in the future.

No, none out of Auckland yet it seems. 4 in Auckland. Maybe to do with distribution? I'd think that the Riccarton store is probably big enough (though when I was in there last week, it was crammed full of stuff, which I like to see and makes it look great).

Went past the old Whakatane location yesterday. I wasn't expecting to get a JB... and we didn't get one. There's a "Furniture Zone" there now. Yay.

Today I had time to have a good look around the Riccarton JB Hifi & was impressed with the range of stock and variety.    I was particularly taken by how many vinyl record albums they had for sale.    There were quite a few young people browsing those so I guess that vinyl records are really popular again!    Kind of regretting that I threw out my turntable and other gear about 10 years ago!     The only problem at the JB Hifi was that the lift to the upper level of the shop had broken down.    However, when DSE were in there the lift was always breaking down so some things don't change!

No JB Hifi for Pukekohe. There is a Price Wise Mega in the old Dick Smith building. Like we really need another one of those stores.

Nothing in the Hornby Christchurch ex Dick Smith shop yet.    Looks like they have been sanding the concrete floor but that it.

I drove past Palmy DSE store today, and it's been given a coat of dark green paint, and saw scaffolding up presumably to take down the existing DSE signage.  Curious as to what's going in there - maybe Bed Bath and Beyond?  The colour probably matches, but it would be a massive store for them, and they already have a store in the Plaza (unless they're moving out?)

@kiwifidget Do you really want a JB HiFi in Pukekohe though? Bad enough having one as close as Manukau! Can be a dangerous place when you just pop in to browse :-(

I think it would be a good idea to turn all those old Dick Smiths stores into brothels as a lot of shoppers got screwed (pricewise) in those shops.
