https://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/kim-dotcom-loses-high-court-bid-to-block-extradition-to-us/WNUNQGWTXFFVLPR4KNW3KQFKRQ/

Embattled internet entrepreneur Kim Dotcom’s latest attempt to block his extradition to the United States has failed.

Dotcom challenged the legality of the Justice Minister’s decision to surrender him to the US through a judicial review heard earlier this year.

He also challenged the Police Commissioner’s decision not to lay charges against him in New Zealand, arguing it was politically motivated.

In a decision out today, the High Court declined Dotcom’s application for review and found neither of these arguments stood up.

What is he worried about? He could probably buy a pardon from DT for less than the cost of defending himself.

100%! All he needs to do is tell Trump and crew that it was Biden who ordered the arrest (remember, facts don't matter in 2025) and they'll probably give him the top job at the NSA.

The truth is even better. Obama triggers Trump even more than Biden and as far as Hollywood goes that's in California.

Assuming KDC still has US$5M, he can then buy himself citizenship there.

Incredible how, with all his assets frozen back then, and having to ask the judge to release some money for "living" he still has more money than 99% of New Zealanders.

Kim Dotcom could die in prison if extradited to USA, argues lawyer

This is the most impressive thing. Fourteen years.

In a legal saga that has lasted 14 years, Dotcom’s case was again heard in court on Tuesday, as he challenged his extradition to the United States to face charges of conspiracy to commit copyright fraud.

The US punishment seems very heavy handed for what is a civil case.

Remember, no body was harmed by Dotcom's alleged offending, except possibly some people who were exposed to Adam Sandler movies.

Not really, NZ's extradition process in slow, and there are many opportunities to appeal decisions,

There is a Korean National in NZ trying to halt his extradition to China on a murder charge... NZ was asked to extradite him in 2011, Even before KDC

US perhaps doesn’t have the means to give up… they are under the pump to prove a point at all costs.
technology changed leaps and bounds and probably the same type of “crimes” are still being committed across cloud platforms.

Americans are absolutely relentless about what they call 'justice' (retribution). They never forget, they never forgive, and they will pursue him into hell.

I suspect in reality, this is less about retribution at this point and more about the fact no-one has done what is commonly done when you have a change of administration/attorney general and asked what cases should be continued.

The relevance of this case and offending, is well past it's due by date. He's been here as long as many expats, and has probably done more good than harm since he got here maybe. Feels like there are more pressing matters.

I mean, if you can storm the capitol building and get pardoned.. this by comparison feels like they should have a public holiday in his name.

Chances are if he was convicted and imprisoned, he would have been out now.

Time served maybe?

Maybe they can do a Julian Assange with him, though I find any comparison of the two gentlemen rather offensive.
