The issue has been explained already  - foreign exchange fees.

I don't want Amazon to charge me in AUD because they (or whoever they use) is going to be clipping the ticket in this process and the rate they use is unlikely to be as good as my credit card rate.

Surely that should read that you do want Amazon to charge you in AUD so that is then converted at your credit card rate

Yes, I fixed that in the original.

What amazes me is that it's cheaper and faster to deliver from Australia than it is to get the same thing from the warehouse just down the street to me.

Postage / parcel delivery in NZ is super expensive.

Super impressed so far, ordered Thursday and it's in NZ already this morning. Wonder if DHL does Saturday deliveries?

I doubt it, they had over to courier post.

While Courier post can do Saturday deliveries you had to pau extra for that service.

Actually pretty stoked about this, there is always niche products oversea's that cost $50 - $70 to ship to New Zealand that can now be sent over from a seller in Australia for $5 for the same price.  Actually opens up a lot bigger market and way better deals than waiting on Mightyape / PbTech sales etc

So my first order from Amazon AU shipped on Friday and arrived this morning at 8:30AM. Extremely quick.

DHL are now in my bad books, item was with courier since 9am. At 4:30PM they supposedly tried to deliver it but nobody was home. Fascinating stuff, because I am 100% sure I was home and can see my driveway from the room I was in. Even if I was not home, I gave them authority to leave. So, it's clear the driver just couldn't be assed doing their job properly.

Hopefully it comes tomorrow because I move Wednesday, specifically why I paid extra for express delivery.

A few weeks ago I was home, in a room overlooking the driveway. My phone went 'ding' with a "your item has been delivered" message. What rubbish. Except... the item was indeed on the back doorstep in its ATL location.

It's (remotely) possible that you also had a ninja courier.

I chose the ATL location as letterbox and the status says:

Delivery attempted; recipient not home : Monday, July 12, 2021 at 16:30

It's not in the letterbox so definitely an invisible courier.

I ordered a couple of things on Saturday using the non-express option and it said they would arrive on Thursday. The order still hasn't shipped, so curious to see if it will arrive on Thursday now.

Me too...if I go to order anything at all now, it says that the delivery date is unknown and I'll get an email when they know.

Wonder what's up.
