Hopefully, I don't jinx myself, but I've never, despite having literally dozens and dozens of parcels from Amazon, many with DPD, had a delivery late. Usually, if anything, they arrive early.

An item shipped today via DPD from the US, ETA 26th. I'll update as to how I get on.

It probably helps I am shipping to a business address, not a Residential, and it's central Auckland.

Delivered in 5 days, from the Northwest US warehouse, before lunch time today, which included 2 weekend days.

One day more than my Parcel sent from Newmarket to Grey Lynn took to arrive.

Delivered with Aramex.

Looks like Aramex tried to deliver one of my parcels to the wrong address on Friday. Now back at the depot with an expected delivery date of today. Fingers crossed I'll see it this week.

So the parcel finally arrived about 10 minutes ago. Left on the doorstep. Aramex driver didn't ring the door bell or even knock on the door, and I have this all on camera.

Complaint filed, but I don't expect anything other than the usual stock response.

So the response from Aramex

Please note, these shipments have been delivered with authority to leave instructions given by the supplier for this consignment, so no signature was required .

The fact that they were left in full sight of the nearby road and no attempt was made to notify the home owner doesn't matter. They can simply drop and run.

Is any of this actually regulated?

Dunno if it's regulated but I tend to add "Please leave on back doorstep" to the instructions on my orders.  So at least there's a chance of the reading it and using the back door and not the front one in full view of the street.

I'm hoping my coaching of the Aramex driver last time will help encourage this instead of his usual drop and run to the front door.  Will see some time today I guess with a "Delivery on board".

Aremex are still leaving small things in my mailbox or underneith it if it will not fit in the back of it.

These have all been trademe things I actually want so I am not going to ignore them and put it back on the sender to sort out, but if I get from an actual business and they use aramex and they try this crap they will be refunding or resending.

Nope, letterbox it is.

It's "out of sight" I guess.

Timeline for a router ordered from Amazon AU by NZ Post.  Ordered on 17 July 24

Wow! That’s awesome tracking - and obviously does not involve DPD

Aramex seem to have improved lately (I think, I hope). Now just have to cure them of not actually delivering two parcels together when they've come all the way from America together.

Naah, they're as bad as ever.  Case in point:

25 July: Item #1, Awaiting customs clearance (Aramex).  Item #2, Shatian Town, Guangdong, China.

28 July: Item #1, Awaiting customs clearance (Aramex).  Item #2, In transit to local delivery depot (NZ Post).

Its 1st August. Last update was 24 July.

Aramax clearly sending my parcel from Amazon/DPD from Auckland to Wellington via a very slow foot messenger who got distracted somewhere en-route.

Here's an interesting one.

One of my boys ordered some toys off Amazon (US) last month. Payment was taken etc, all good. After a few days of tracking it online, it showed as having reached California.
But then a message appeared saying it was "undeliverable" and it would be returned and he would get a refund?

Called Amazon and the person I spoke to was less than useless, she said it was on track to be delivered and couldn't tell me why it showed as undeliverable. The best she could do was to tell me "it's still on track for delivery in early August, let us know if you don't get it". The tracking number doesn't work on any site, and I have no idea where his parcel is now (nor have I received a refund).

He would really just like the parcel, not his money back.

For the record, this is what the tracking looks like on Amazon's website. I only noticed the entries after California this morning:

Should I just wait and see what happens?

That's exactly what I got for a few Amazon orders from the US. I always got a refund but as I mentioned earlier one of them was subsequently delivered so I got it for free.

You may be lucky too.

I had two orders from Amazon US delivered via DPD / Aramex recently. Ordered 18th July, dispatched on the 21st, delivered 30th July. Zero problems.

Aramex always drop at the front door, push the doorbell, and run. I've never tried including delivery instructions, not sure if Amazon allow that.
