Just downloaded Sapphire & Steel from ITV Retro channel on Youtube. As a small child(8yr) this show freaked me out & yet I still watched it in my mums comforting arms. The opening credits are right up there with the original "Under the Mountain" intro 😰

The Strangerers was a quirky semi scifi that I enjoyed recently..

Aliens in human form land on Earth to carry out a secret mission, and when the Supervisor is decapitated, the two bumbling Cadets have no idea what the mission entails. With a mixture of their of own language, and mannerisms taken from old 50s movies, they try and get through the crazy world we live in, without trying to get caught by the various shady organisations after them

That one had Avon from Blake's 7 in it, eh? I saw some on Youtube, very offbeat and possibly ahead of its time.

Apparently never been repeated nor released on any streaming format.

Can't say as I remember Steel Riders, but NZ On Screen has it complete (as two "movies"): https://www.nzonscreen.com/title/steel-riders-telemovie-1987

Peppermint Twist has just a single episode online though: https://www.nzonscreen.com/title/peppermint-twist-lets-limbo-1987

The NZ On Screen page has all eight episodes, but it's presented in two parts (4 episodes in each part).  I think it was edited into a 90-ish minute TV movie and sold to Australia as "Young Detectives on Wheels", but fortunately the NZ On Screen version isn't that version.  You just need to spot where each episode would have ended (when the screen briefly "freezes" on a shot) and you can relive the episodic experience - as I've been doing with my kids.  I absolutely infuriated my eldest when we got to the end of episode 7, and the Spook's motorbike helmet comes off and they finally see the mysterious man who has been stalking them.  Sandra cries out "it was you" but the screen freezes before you see the Spook's face.  Of course, back in 1987, you had to wait a whole week to see who it was.  So I've decided to do the same here and refused to unpause the video so that my kids will have to wait to finally see who the Spook is.  They have been having a lot of fun discussing the possible suspects.

This was one of my late grandmother's favourite shows, so I remember it quite well.

Thanks, I barely remember it - other than an impression that I really liked it.  I see they only made one season.

Oh wow. I watched the first minute and got a laugh out of it. Later. I'll be back!
