I use BD on my Macs, phones and tablets. Yes, Macs have less issues with security threats - but they don't have NO issues...!

I recently used Migration Assistant to copy my stuff from one Mac to another and it copied BD over. Somehow, that broke it. I followed all the usual online fixes and nothing worked. I contacted BD CS and they sent a couple more things to try. Neither worked. They immediately suggested a remote fix session at a time to suit me (they are in Romania so we had to work round time zones!) and tonight, bang on time, there they were. 20 minutes later, everything is working faultlessly again.

It took them some fiddling under the hood in areas most normal users would not be comfortable going and I deduced from watching that the problem was a kext file called SelfPreservation that is clearly intended to prevent the BD software from being interfered with. It was preventing the uninstaller from uninstalling it so a clean unbroken copy could not be loaded.

Not many companies offer that level of personal involvement as a normal part of a CS experience - indeed, the only other one I have come across really would be Apple.

Colour me impressed. And happy!

I got a refund from Amazon because the import duties on something I sent to one of my brothers in Canada were lower than estimated.

Advice please, on what to spend my 5 cents on.

Get in a time machine and set the destination to 10 July 1967. That five cents will get you quite a few lollies at the local shop.

When I went away to boarding school, aged 7 1/2, we used to get tuck on Thursdays and Sundays.

5p on Thursday and 7p on Sunday. You could get plenty with that back in 1975.

Aah, I remember 5 aniseed balls for a penny, becoming 7 for a cent (Instead of 10) on the decimal currency changeover.

That used to make me smile.
