Asmodeus:

Probably already mentioned but windscreen wipers...

When:

  • They squeak or screech even slightly
  • They don't remove every drop of water or leave streaks (will pull over immediately to correct this)
  • They are on more than they need to be (eg: set to constant when it's just spitting. This only annoys me when I'm a passenger as I don't ever do it. It even annoys me when other cars that driving past do it lol)
  • When people forget to turn them off after it stops raining (are you paying attention to your surroundings if you don't notice two black sticks swinging in front of your face?)
  • Small wipers that don't wipe enough of the window

Yeah, windscreen wipers...

  • When people park their car and don't bother to park their wipers
  • wipers that go "click" when they reverse direction
  • any blade that is more than 6 months old
  • any "universal" blade
  • the fact that even with a massive discount a genuine set of BMW floppy blades is over $80
  • the fact that genuine BMW blades are so bloody good I am willing to pay over $80 for them every 6 months

A quick flick of my indicator stalk, without reaching the detente, only gives three flashes. I want it to do five.

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

This is programable using dealer software in a BMW, I assume the same for other cars too

People who think that foglights or park lights are ok to drive with at twilight.

Drivers who don't even realise it is dark and STILL haven't got their lights on. Sure they leave work when it's heading towards dusk, but by the time they are half way home, it's dark, and can't been seen.

Or they leave a brightly lit street, it's raining, and it's bright enough that they can see OK, and too much rain reflection that they don't realise they're lights aren't on.

But FFS, cannot they not see the dashboard is dark - do they never check their speedo or fuel gauge ?

At least twice I've signalled to drivers to put their lights on whilst driving / crawling  along the motorway within the last couple of weeks

D1ckheads !!

I hate that too but to play devils advocate for some, some dashboards are permanently lit. I have a Mitsi wagon run around and the dash is always lit. It actually dims when you turn the headlights on...

A lot of modern cars, mine is an example, the dash is always illuminated thus it could be a cause. On our cars the dash drops in brightness when the lights are put on, we have them set on auto so never think about it until we are using rentals that don't have auto lights so have been guilty of driving for a bit with out them on.

Why does this bother you? Foglights point downward, I've never had an issue with this. In fact, I don't really know why this is illegal.

I have more of a problem with people who drive during daylight with their lights on full beam -- some cars have really bright full beam and can be dazzling even in daylight.

Hmmm it is annoying when the indicators in a line or cars are not in sync tongue-out

But the air con vents must at all times be aligned, no exceptions, no excuses.

Because they think they are visible with them on, when they are not really.

Plus the one on the back is a prick to be driving behind. That certainly does not point down.
