Apple Pay

I just spent 30 minutes trying to buy stuff with it and it kept telling me that my (correct) billing address was not a valid address.

I then entered our new house address, which is not the billing address for the card at all and the bank do not even have it on record yet and...the transaction went straight through!

Good security, Apple.

Design flaws.

its not a design flaw. its a flaw with how its installed. but then again it might not have been able to installed further back for what ever reason.

just means you need to use it when the door is down

How do we unload the split base from the car into the garage with the roller door down?

It is a design flaw, the manhole should be well clear of the garage door.

Actually I just looked at the plans again, the manhole was installed contrary the plans......so yes it appears to be an installation fail.

However we cannot access the ceiling storage area while the garage door closed, defeating the purpose of stairs.

I don't think the correct term for that is a manhole.

Manholes are usually in the road. I think that is an access hatch.

Do you have any Irish builders operating in your area?!

Australians sell manhole frames that go either in the ceiling or the floor.

access hatch ... drop in hatch ... attic ladder ... ceiling hatch ... roof hatch ... access panel ... attic access panel ...

Are Australians a reliable source of information?! 😇

Sellwood are a big supplier in NZ of the ladders in question and they call it a ceiling hatch.

Shouldn't it be "person hole"?

Oxford dictionary: a small covered opening in a paved area allowing access beneath, especially one leading to a sewer.

One in the ceiling doesn't meet the 'beneath' criteria.

Do I need to look up 'pedant' too?

Because it'll probably say 'see Behodar'...

Next you will want "Behodar" to be Oxford's Word of the Year.

You missed your chance this year for a couple of days.

Would a pedant begin a sentence with "Because"?

"Oxford English Dictionary couldn't pick just one 'word of the year' for 2020"

Oh god! Yet another disaster.

No, you're right, manholes are round. What you have there is a ceiling cloaca.
