frankv:

Oh god! Yet another disaster.

From a UK government report leaked to the Guardian:

“Winter 2020 could see a combination of severe flooding, pandemic influenza, a novel emerging infectious disease and coordinated industrial action, against a backdrop of the end of the [Brexit] transition period,”

I need to get into the manhole cover business. Why would Bunnings import from Germany to Australia manhole covers? Ballast for ships?

Those things are insanely expensive, no idea why. Had to get a replacement here and it was "ow mooch?" (think Arkwright).

Calling a sale in 2020 "Black Friday" is tempting fate.

I was thinking along the lines of Black Friday being a bad day the sort of thing that Loki would seize on and make mischief. I am certain 2020 has his/her signature on it.

When I accidentally create blank calendar appointments on my phone or have it do other random stuff when phone is in my pocket.

Have a fingerprint sensor on back of my phone and I must subconsciously tap it when phone and hands are in my pocket. I have a calendar display on my home screen.

More concerning though was something that happened a few weeks ago. I managed to somehow send a message via LinkedIn to a contact whom I'm not messaged this year and also attached to that message a photo I took about 2 months earlier. How random is that?

If you can't laugh at yourself then you probably shouldn't laugh at others.

I noticed that flea treatments, the very expensive drops you put dogs and cats, all warn "toxic to terrestrial invertebrates"

In English, that means flea treatments are toxic to fleas.

I guess it also means, if a bee, slug or snail wanted to nibble on your pet, it would be toxic to them too.

It's not like anyone could afford to use the few drops in a garden

Thankfully you only need to apply a couple of drops rather than bathing the cat (good luck with that) in it.
