He was an awesome human being...

I don't neccessarily disgagree he was a very flawed human being, but I don't see any tributes talking about what an awesome person he was, really only what feats he was renowned for. There are plenty of horrific, wildly talented people who will most likely be recalled for their accomplishments than their failures. I certainly hope I am remembered for my pluses rather than my minuses :)

I am seeing non-stop tributes to eth Greatest of All Time etc etc.

You're only great if you are good, IMO - look at Pele, Messi etc...clean off the pitch, great on it.

I don't consider a flawed human to be great. He was incredibly skilled at his sport - I will never deny that. One of the finest football players ever...at times. But you can't be the greatest of all time and a national hero if you openly cheat, treat other humans like garbage and act like a complete twat.

Amazon Japan has taken the trouble to remind me that all my loyalty points will expire at the end of the month and that I should buy things. Meanwhile, no prizes for guessing who still blocks NZ...

The really annoying thing is that it's been a whole year since this 'temporary' block was set up!

Pele has repeatedly exaggerated or outright lied about his sporting heroics. There were accusations his sports charity didn't handle money appropriately. It was quietly "put to bed".

GOAT in my experience refers to the persons' on-field achievements.

People shouldn't say he was a great human being personally (and I have not seen a tribute that hasn't made a point of mentioning his personal flaws), but to some, and it's subjective to some degree, he could be considered the GOAT.

I actually just checked UK and its still the same, so I said bugger it and deleted everything in my 'save for later' list (90% blurays). If I'm desperate I get from Zavvi so I get to pay VAT instead.

Even got something from Amazon Germany once. Guess it will be staying at once....

Greatest of All Time

This annoys me.

I'm happy for someone to get an accolade of Greatest So Far, which should be seen as exceptional and brilliant and all those good things.

But ALL Time surely implies past, present, and future. So there will never, ever be anyone better. Maybe someone is so head-and-shoulders better than everyone else, that he couldn't possibly be beaten. But, unless there's a very short future, and/or an absence of improvement, eventually someone better will appear.

Zero tolerance... yet another overused hyperbolic cliche. "Zero tolerance" means you don't get a warning.

But perhaps in this case it's true, for large values of zero.
